Quick Analysis:

It’s a small field, and I think Aurora Effect can get the chocolates after missing out as the favourite last time out. She ended up finishing fourth in that one, but just 0.49L off the leader. I reckon she likes the Grafton track, as she broke her maiden here four runs ago. Ben Looker gets another chance in the saddle, and they can both redeem themselves here.

Quick Analysis:

Mrs Bull draws very wide for this one, but the old girl presents a smidge of value that I just can’t pass up. It’s a pretty big field, and she shapes up as one of the main contenders, but also gets 2kg off her back thanks to apprentice jockey Gabrielle Johnston. It looks like she’s been a bit unlucky so far this prep, so I’m hoping the tide will turn for this race.

Quick Analysis:

Back in Grafton for my final best bet of the day, and Spicy Wings has really caught my eye. The 5YO is looking for back-to-back wins at Murwillumbah last time out. He won that race by over 1L, and the step up to 1,400m doesn’t look too difficult. Andrew Mallyon sticks, and they draw just about as well as they did last time (i.e. wide). So, rinse and repeat?

Stats and Insights

  • Licentious has already won at Bendigo this preparation and drops back to non-metro company. She can benefit from the class relief in Race 4 at Tatura.
  • Crusader Kings resumes from a 24-week spell after an impressive trial win. He can make a bold fresh return in Race 7 at Dubbo.
  • Mickio drops back to non-metro company and has the speed to overcome the wide draw. He can get the job done at decent odds in Race 7 at Tatura.
