Selections:

Percival – 2.70

Cocomora – 6.00

Starvinos – 12.00

BEST BET – Percival

In race five Percival is our best bet of the day. This is a weak race and he brings in the best form. He has already finished runner-up twice from three attempts at this trip and connections will hope that the addition of blinkers will help him get over the line.

THE DANGER – Cocomora

In a pretty open contest, Cocomora is one of the main dangers. An eleven race maiden, she has placed on three occasions and any sort of repeat will see her go close. Backers will need to cross their fingers at the start, she stumbled badly last time out and a repeat will render her chances useless.

VALUE BET – Starvinos

The value could lie with Starvinos. Having just raced twice, improvement could come here. He finished third on debut before disappointing last time out at Riccarton last time out. Connections move him from 1400m to 1600m for this contest in the hope it unlocks more.

Selections:

Rosso – 2.50

Balance of Power – 2.60

In Vegas – 12.00

BEST BET – Balance of Power

Race 10 looks to be a battle between Rosso and Balance of Power, but we think Balance of Power could shade it. In great recent form, he comes into this off the back of a win at this distance and track. He carries less weight for this trickier assignment and there is a lot to like.

THE DANGER – Rosso

Rosso is the class angle of the race and is likely to top the market. He has a big weight to carry but he is fine over this distance and has won at this track previously. He has competed in more competitive races than this and could be hard to stop.

VALUE BET – In Vegas

In Vegas is our value play if you think the winner will come outside of the top two in the market. Well drawn, she has run three decent enough races in preparation for this. She will need to produce a career best effort to succeed here but she could certainly compete for the places.

Selections:

Mad Max – 4.00

Marokapa Falls – 6.50

Overstate – 31.00

BEST BET – Mad Max

In the ninth race of the day Mad Max could be a popular selection. Having moved to Terri Rae he has run two respectable races for his new yard and has been well drawn here. A winner at this distance, he should go well here.

THE DANGER – Marokapa Falls

Marokapa Falls has also been running well of late. Resuming after her five month break, she has a second and a fourth in preparation for this run and should be primed to go well. Conditions should be perfect and she has to be one for the shortlist.

VALUE BET – Overstate

Twice a winner, Overstate is a massive price to win this. One of these wins came three runs ago and he followed that up with a placed effort at Riccarton Park last time out. He is in better form than his price suggests and he can’t be discounted.

Michael McNab is an eye catching jockey on Sunday’s card and although his book of rides isn’t the deepest, he looks to have several live chances and could be the man to follow.
