Now, there isn’t any value around Nimble Star, but he is one for your multis or wider exotics if you’re so inclined. The gelding has been racing in much tougher company as of late, and now he returns to his home track (where he is two from four). He is yet to win this prep, but did come close a couple of runs back. He does draw the widest barrier of them all, but he has the class advantage.

For Race 3 at Cranbourne, I have my eye on Two Wolves. The gelding comes into this one third-up, and he seems to be making improvements with every run, so now looks like the time. He drops from a BM78 to a BM74, and is already a winner at BM70 level. Jamie Mott, who was on board for the first-up run, steps back into the saddle, and from barrier six, they should settle in well.

If you’re staying up late, I’ve got one I like in the last at Cranbourne with Electric Elvis. The 5YO seemingly does some of his best work on Soft/ Heavy-rated tracks, and this is what we’ll get, especially late in the day. He is also a winner at this distance, and while he’ll have to lug around the top weight, he does get 1.5kg off thanks to apprentice jockey Luke Cartwright.

  • Taravia has won at the Sunshine Coast and placed once this preparation. He can continue his strong form as the favourite in Race 2 at the Sunshine Coast.
  • Paciera finished two lengths from the winner at the Sunshine Coast and has previously won second-up. She can improve sharply in Race 6 at the Sunshine Coast.
  • Hurry Miss chased strongly to win at Canberra last start and comes from the Matthew Dale barn. She can continue her winning form in Race 6 at Moruya.
