NZ$3.40 with Zoccer

Quick Analysis:

Prince Of Byron comes into this one second-up, and I think we’ll see a lot of natural improvement from last time out. He drops down from a BM66 to a BM56, so this one looks a lot more up his alley. He draws a lot better than last time out as well, and we see John Allen step into the saddle. Blinkers go on for the first time, and at $3.40, there’s still a little bit of value in the price.

Corowa - Race 6, 6:55 PM

Top Pick:

3. Chief Of War

Best Odds Available:

NZ$1.85 with 20Bet

Quick Analysis:

The $1.85 we’re currently getting for Chief Of War is getting a bit skinny, but I really do like his chances in this one. He finished second last time out at this track, and I think the step up to 1,600m looks perfect. Pierre Boudvillain retains the ride as well, which is a positive sign. He looks to be the deserved favourite in this one and is classy enough to salute punters today.

Top Pick:

2. Not Written Off

NZ$3.10 with Ivibet

Quick Analysis:

Wrapping things off in the final race of the day at Tamworth. Only eight runners in this one, and I have my eye on Not Written Off. The mare is looking for a hat trick of wins today after back-to-back victories across this track/ trip in July. She’s had a tick-over trial since then, which she also won. She draws barrier two, and Rory Hutchings, who was on board for one of the victories, saddles up once again.

Stats and Insights

  • Canny Hell should improve second-up after his fresh run at Wagga and now steps up in distance. He can make the rise to 1,600m count in Race 3 at Corowa.
  • La Potenza should be fitter for recent racing and comes from the Brett and Georgie Cavanough stable. She is good enough to give the favourite a run for their money in Race 5 at Tamworth.
  • Sipping Shamus should improve second-up after resuming at Scone and has won second-up at Tamworth before. He can bounce back to winning form in Race 6 at Tamworth.
