Mayleigh is the one to be on in my eyes for Race 7 at Hawkesbury. She’s been racing exclusively at Kembla Grange for her first three runs this prep, which has resulted in a first, second, and third. Her closing speed last time out was impressive, and dropping back to 1,400m shouldn’t be an issue. Tommy Berry steps into the saddle, and they draw barrier one.

Neziha comes into this one as the favourite, and it’s easy to see why. The mare is looking for back-to-back wins after taking out a BM62 at Pakenham Synthetic. She is one-from-one when second-up, and barrier three looks ideal, especially when you consider some of her toughest opponents have drawn wide. Harry Coffey picks up the ride, and 59.5kg isn’t the worst.

Wrapping up today in Rockhampton with Lim's Teide. We haven’t seen the 5YO since April, but his recent trial (which was also at Rockhampton) suggests he is ready to go. New trainer, Alisha Taylor, seems to have him tuned up properly. He is already a winner first-up in his short career, and while the query would be the Soft-rated track, he looks good enough to put this one away.

  • Killiana returns from an 18-week spell and has won a trial since her last race. She can make a winning return in Race 5 at Swan Hill.
  • Switch Hit has placed in every previous start as favourite and comes from an astute stable. He can turn that consistent form into a victory in Race 7 at Swan Hill.
  • Angel Hair broke his maiden at Hawkesbury last start and has already proven himself at the track. He can make it back-to-back victories in Race 8 at Hawkesbury.
