Quick Analysis:

Kicking the day off early in Tamworth with Spenzalot. The gelding comes into this one in great form, with a win and two placings in his last three runs. He heads to a BM82, which is another step up, but I reckon he’s up for the challenge. He gets slugged with the top weight as well, but he is classy enough to overcome that, especially with Mikayla Weir in the saddle.

Heading to Bairnsdale now, and I like the look of Astari, who still presents a little bit of value at around the $4.20 mark. There are plenty of live chances in this one, but what Astari did two runs back at Echuca has caught my eye. Put a line through his Ballarat run last time out, as he was pretty unlucky. Now, he gets a 3kg weight relief, and barrier five isn’t the worst.

Staying in Bairnsdale for my final best bet of the day, which is with Luminary Miss. The mare presents value at the each-way price, but I’ll be taking her for the outright win. She is a last-start winner at this track/ trip, and her closing speed in that one was impressive. She heads to a BM56 this time out, which shouldn’t be too difficult for her, and Dylan Dunn is in the saddle once again.

Stats and Insights

  • Precambrian chased strongly to break his maiden with a win at Echuca last start. He can build on that breakthrough victory and salute at almost double-digit odds in Race 5 at Bairnsdale.
  • Halo Phenomena resumes after a 34-week break and has multiple wins at Tamworth. He can make his track experience count at decent odds in Race 7 at Tamworth.
  • Jagerschnitzel was narrowly beaten as favourite at Dubbo last start and has three placings from five runs this preparation. He can redeem himself for punters in Race 8 at Tamworth.
