There are only seven runners in this one now after a scratching, and Marilyn's Edge looks the runner to be on. The mare comes into this one in some form after taking out a BM58 at Moe last time out, across the same distance she lines up for again here. She has also had some previous success at the track, with two seconds from three runs. She is capable of going one better here.

Now, there isn’t any value in the price, but Slander looks good enough to win this one comfortably. The colt broke his maiden last time out at Illawarra Grange, and it wasn’t just the win, but the way he won. He didn’t have it all his way, but fought off his competitors to win by 0.4L. Regular jockey Ashley Morgan is back in the saddle once again, and they draw better than last time out.

Ending the day in Goulburn, and I think Ole Miss has a smidge of value about here. The mare finished mid-field last time out at Bathurst, but she’ll strip fitter for that run under her belt. Plus, she gets up to 1,400m today, where she is already one-from-one. Lots of rain in Sydney overnight, so we’re getting a Soft-rated track, and we’ve already seen four scratchings as well.

  • Drialle comes from a successful stable and is already a winner here at Kilcoy four runs back this prep. He can return to winning form once again in Race 4 at Kilcoy.
  • Purossangue placed first-up and gets the winkers back on for today’s race. He can improve and prove to be a challenge in Race 6 at Warwick.
  • Prince Of Verona won at Bathurst on debut and comes from the Annabel and Rob Archibald barn. He can make it two wins from two starts this campaign in Race 7 at Goulburn.
