Quick Analysis:

From barrier one, Valilee looks in a great position to break through for his first win this prep. He has been close in his last couple of runs, including a second at Newcastle two runs back. He is a speedy horse, so he should be able to dictate things from the front. Shannen Llewellyn retains the ride from last time out, and brings a 2kg weight relief as well.

Quick Analysis:

Heading to Warrnambool now, Pastoral King was very impressive on debut, winning at this track/ trip by 2L. This one is obviously more difficult, but we’re getting a slightly better price for the 4YO. Expect some natural improvement from that run to this one as well, and drawing barrier five isn’t the worst as it gives him some options. Dean Yendall was on board for that maiden win and sticks again today.

Quick Analysis:

Last, but certainly not least, we have Cheyne Bay in Race 6 today at Northam. The gelding comes into this one as the favourite, and after the run he put together last time out at this track, it’s easy to see why. He was going around as an $11 chance, and still managed to challenge the favourite, but ultimately went down by just 0.04L. Holly Nottle is back in the saddle, and they draw slightly better than last time out.

Stats and Insights

  • The Torque Xpress won at Ipswich three runs back and comes from the Matthew Dunn barn. He can return to winning form in Race 5 at Casino.
  • Airhawk comes off a surprise win at Grafton last start after overcoming big odds, making it back-to-back wins. He can build on that performance in Race 7 at Casino.
  • Blue Eyed Brigid was narrowly beaten when heavily backed at Hawkesbury last start. She can go one better and redeem herself in Race 8 at Wyong.
