Quick Analysis:

Sticking with the favourite today in Kilmore with I Said So. The gelding has been close a couple of times so far this prep with two placings out of three runs, and the time looks right now. He drops down to a BM56 for this one, and Jason Maskiell is back in the saddle once again. The money is coming in for the 5YO, so get in while you still can.

Switching over to Grafton now, and I think Woodland Wonder can make an impact in Race 3. He meets his rival Sun Topaze once again. Sun Topaze beat Woodland Wonder last time out at this track by just 0.33L. However, Sun Topaze will have to carry more weight and doesn’t get the benefit of the rails this time out. So, the tables could certainly turn here.

Staying in Grafton for my final best bet of the day, and Referees looks difficult to hold out, even from the wide draw. I’ve had my eye on Referees for a while now, and the gelding has been close so far this prep without managing to break through for a win. He is already a winner at Grafton, and he gets his second go in a row at this track, so expect some further improvement.

Stats and Insights

  • Sugar Schnapps failed to deliver as favourite at Tatura last start but comes from a good stable. She can bounce back in Race 3 in Kilmore.
  • Il Fratello placed at the Gold Coast first-up and has trialled since his last race. He is capable of giving the favourite a run for their money in Race 6 at Grafton.
  • Dane On Tour chased strongly to win at Bairnsdale last start and shapes as a genuine contender. She can make it back-to-back wins in Race 7 at Kilmore.
