Quick Analysis:

Kicking off today in Port Macquarie with Canal. The 4YO is racing at his home track and managed to break his maiden here three runs ago. He followed up that win with another at Beaumont, then finished third at the Gold Coast last time out. He does need to work on his barrier speed, but Ben Looker, who was on board for the maiden win, steps back into the saddle once again.

Heading to Cranbourne now, and I think I’ve managed to find a little bit of value late in the day with Sun Gift. The mare didn’t do much first-up, but she tends to do her best work on Good-rated tracks (with a record of 19:5-6-0). So, as long as this one stays in the Good range, I’ll be backing her. She’ll be fitter for that first-up run under her belt, and is already a winner second-up (in four attempts, with another second placing as well).

I’m in the Sunshine Coast for my final best bet of the day, and it’s hard for me to go past the favourite, Yes Donald Yes, despite the wide draw. The 4YO may not have as many runs under his belt throughout his career as some of the others, but based on his recent form, he should be good enough to win this. In his last three races, he has finished first, second, and third. Cejay Graham was on board for two of them and sticks once again.

  • Who's In Dev has won twice at Launceston and comes from a quality stable. She’s good enough to notch up another win in Race 5 at Launceston.
  • Racey Casey was narrowly beaten as favourite at Coleraine last start and won at Hamilton two runs back. She can bounce back to winning form in Race 8 at Ballarat.
  • Steel Knight comes from a respected stable and shapes as a key chance against this field. He can bounce back from a poor showing first-up in Race 8 at Canberra.
