Bona Sforza will be taking to the track in over two months, but as long as she is raring to go, she looks to be the undoubted danger. Having won at Listed level previously, she looks a horse going places and her connections will be expecting her to compete in the business stages of the contest.

VALUE BET – Churmatt

If looking for added value, Churmatt could be a horse to keep an eye on. He has made just one start so far, but that win was certainly eye-catching at Arawa Park a few weeks ago. He is raw and unexposed but will hope to take another leap forward.

The fourth race of the day sees Cosentino lead an interesting betting heat. In a deep race, he has four wins from his eight starts which includes two wins from his last two runs. Whilst the competition is stiff here, he should give his running yet again.

THE DANGER – Farravallo

Farravallo could be a great alternative for those not sold on the credentials of Cosentino. Having won four of his 22 starts his strike rate is decent and he heads to Wanganui with a solid second place finish at Woodville. Vastly experienced in comparison to Cosentino, he will have plenty of supporters before everything begins.

VALUE BET – Tavis Court

In what is a competitive affair, Tavis Court will be one of the outsiders of the race but isn’t a forlorn hope. The veteran of the field, he knows where the finish line is and has posted two wins in his last three starts. Yes, this is a tougher race but he can’t be ruled out.

Zanzibar has to be one for the shortlist in the sixth race of the day. One of the most consistent horses on the entire card, his last six runs have resulted in four seconds and two wins. Conditions won’t be an issue, and another big run can be expected.

THE DANGER – Knock Off

Another horse that has been running remarkably well of late has been Knock Off. Another one that should embrace conditions, he has posted two wins in his last three starts and will be knocking on the door once again.

My Alibi is our long shot of the day and there should be plenty of optimism that he can pull off the upset. With two wins from thirteen starts, he has won races, with one of those wins coming in his last start. Conditions will be up his street and another bold run can be expected.
