The Taupo card this Sunday is headlined by the Rabobank Cup.

Ahead of this and the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips.

BEST BET – Passiflora

Having made just four starts in his career, Pasiflora is yet to have finished outside of the places and has notched one victory. Having raced at a higher level than this in the past, this represents a golden opportunity to get back inside the winner’s circle.

THE DANGER – Little Black Dress

The most obvious danger will come in the form of Little Black Dress. Having accumulated twice as much prize money as her nearest competitor, she has placed in Group 2 and Group 3 races as well as competing in the 1000 Guineas where she finished well down the field. This is far easier and she could well prove to be a class apart.

VALUE BET – O’Sweet Darling

O’Sweet Darling could be the value option here. She has just had one start and won well on debut, whilst this will be far tougher she could be a horse with real potential and she could be worth monitoring in the market.

Timbuctoo – 12.00

BEST BET – Alacritous

Arguably the best bet of the day is Alacritous, she has better form than the bulk of the field, is unexposed and still capable of improvement. She comes off a win at Matamata and could easily be the best horse in this field.

THE DANGER – Sassalita

Alacritous will be a warm favourite so the danger could be lurking on a big price. Sassalita is alos unexposed having won one of her three races. This represents a step down in class from her last assignment and she could well return to winning ways.

VALUE BET – Timbuctoo

Few can match the experience of Timbuctoo and that experience could make her worth a small value play. Conditions should be perfect and she could well make the places here.

Top Dollar – 6.50

Ivy’s Dancer – 11.00

BEST BET – Crown Princess

Crown Princess could send punters home happy in the lucky last. Representing top connections, she has competed in Graded races without making an impression. This is calmer and Opie Bosson takes the ride, she is hard to look past.

THE DANGER – Top Dollar

Top Dollar could be the one to take on Crown Princess with. Conditions should be ideal and having raced once around the track that ended in victory. She has form to find with Crown Princess but she is certainly capable.

VALUE BET – Ivy’s Dancer

Ivy’s Dancer is the value play here and looks to hold a solid chance of upsetting the odds. Her recent form is good with a win coming at Tauranga two starts ago. That win came on a soft track and those same conditions should see her run another big race here.
