Feel The Stag has hit the track three times and as of yet hasn’t quite managed to get his head in front. Here, he takes a drop down in class and having placed in a higher grade, this looks the perfect opportunity to finally get off the mark.

The Danger - Lagarde

Whilst Lagarde doesn’t quite have the form to match Feel The Stag, he has plenty of experience and in a race that won’t require much winning, that will count for plenty. If the penny finally drops he will be a match for most in this field.

Value bet – La Florida

In a race where those with experience could be hard to back, it could be worth siding with a newcomer and La Florida looks to be a good option. Nicely bred, he will have the services of Craig Grylls to call upon and he could well play a big part in proceedings.

Best Bet – Kygo Star

In a wide-open contest, Kygo Star could be the bestr of the sixth race. He warmed up for this contest with an encouraging second place effort on debut. He missed the break in that debut run but finished with a real flourish. If he can keep closer to the pace, he should play a major part in the finish.

The Danger - Shoma

Shoma is likely to start the race as the favourite. He has had seven starts and has placed just once, but the bulk of those races have come at a higher level and there is a suspicion that if he can translate the form that he has shown previously, that could be good enough to land the odds here.

Value bet – Miss Parker

Miss Parker has steadily improved with each and every run and almost broke her maiden tag at Taupo three weeks ago when she finished as the narrow runner up. That was her best race to date and there could be more to come. At a decent price, she could be worth a second look.

Best Bet – Cheerful Smile

Cheerful Smile is likely to start the penultimate race of the day as the favourite. She has finished second in two of her last three starts and has come close to winning. Few in this race can match her level of consistency and it would be a real surprise if sdhe weren’t fighting out the finish.

The Danger - Bonnard

Bonnard has made just the one start and finished in the middle of the pack. However, that race was in a higher grade and with improvement to potentially come, that form stacks up reasonably well with most in this field. Although it isn’t an obvious selection, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him produce a big run here.

Value bet – Berry Brown

Berry Brown is our long shot of the day and like several others in this field seems to have been improving with every run. He ran his best race to date in his last start and could well improve on that third place effort here. Another big run could well be on the cards.
