In the second race of the day Electric Zou is bound to have many followers. Having won three of his ten starts which includes two wins in his last four starts, he looks to be the clear form pick of this contest. Look for him to find the front early and dictate the fractions. If awarded a soft lead, he could be hard to pull back.

THE DANGER – Shavasana

Hoping to upset the favourite will be Shavasana. Having gone nine runs without a win, she finally got her head in front with success at the track a few weeks ago. There isn’t a guarantee that she will repeat that effort here, but she could certainly go close.

VALUE BET – Sharp Enough

If the top two in the market make little appeal, then it could be worth taking a second look at Sharp Enough. One of the least experienced horses in the field, he has one win from his eight runs but has run well of late. With two third place finishes in his last three runs his time to win a second contest could be close and could well come in this race.

We are going to take a small chance that Opaea Joe can pull off a small upset and record his second win in succession. Having won a week ago at Arawa, the manner of that victory suggested that there could be plenty more to come and he always finishes his races off strongly. He arrives in brilliant form and should give Colonel Warden plenty to think about.

THE DANGER – Colonel Warden

Colonel Warden is likely to start the race as the favourite and will be looking to win for the first time in three starts. Having placed at Listed level, he boasts the best form in the race, but he will need to show more than his third place finish that came a few weeks ago at Arawa.

VALUE BET – Pegasus

If the top two in the market are too short when it comes to price, it could be worth siding with Pegasus. Having just made two career starts he was a good winner on debut but could then only post a fifth-place effort when trying to back that up. He has taken eleven weeks off and his connections will hope that the break will see him return fit and firing.

BEST BET – Hot Line Bling

Hot Line Bling is a hard horse to predict but having broken his maiden tag two starts ago, there will be high hopes that he can get back into the winner’s circle again. He was poor last time out, only able to finish seventh but his connections will be hoping he can come roaring back.

THE DANGER – Jack In The Box

In a deep race there are plenty who look to hold chances, one of those horses could be Jack In The Box. Having won five of his fifty-one starts, two of those wins have come in his last four races and he arrives in good form. If he can string a good race together, he is a real danger to all in the field.

VALUE BET – Orange River

Our long shot of the day comes in the form of Orange River. A winner in his last start, he won well at the track a week ago and although this is a harder race, his chances can’t be discounted.
