Jabeur will hope to give Hakushu plenty to think about. A five-runner maiden, she has two second place finishes in her last three starts and her time looks near. If she can put together another good showing, she will certainly be in the shakeup.

VALUE BET – Pentagon

Pentagon has just had three starts in his career, but despite not quite being able to get his head in front, he does have two third place finishes and has shown flashes of potential. This will be his first start on the synthetic and there will be hopes that his heavy turf form will translate well here.

Whilst Mulan Ardeche certainly isn’t the most prolific of winners, with just one win in eight starts, she has shown real glimpses of quality with a win and a third place effort in her last two outings. She steps up in trip today and there are feelings that the added distance could really play in her favour.

THE DANGER – La Querida

Likely to start behind Mulan Ardeche in the betting is La Querida. Having won just six days ago, she finally shed her maiden and arrives here thriving. Whilst there is no guarantee of a repeat of that performance she will have many followers.

VALUE BET – Rocky Balboa

If you like to back horses due to their names, you will be hard pushed to find a better name than Rocky Balboa. He has decent form having placed at a higher level than this on three separate occasions. Taking a step down in class today, a first time win is more than possible.

Unequivacol has three wins in his career, with one of those wins coming at this track. He likes the surface and arrives having finished third last time out. He looks like one for the shortlist.

THE DANGER – Penurious

It’s been a fair while since Penurious last tasted victory, but he has ben close to adding to his wins with two placed efforts in his last three starts. Strong at the finish, he has gone down narrowly in each of those races and should give his running yet again.

VALUE BET – Frosbie

Frosbie is our long shot of the day. A winner last week on the synthetic at Awapuni, this looks to be a deeper race, but few arrive in as good form as the five year old. He could be one for the shortlist.
