The fourth race of the day looks to be a great opportunity for High Emotion to get off the mark. Having just run out of steam on his debut, his second-place effort in a higher-grade stacks up well in this field and another big run can be expected.

THE DANGER – Atlanta Gold

Whilst High Emotion will likely start the race as the favourite, Atlanta Gold is likely to have his supporters. Having run third on his debut, he is another who takes a class drop and this could well turn into a match between himself and High Emotion.

VALUE BET – Stayintouch

Whilst it’s hard to look past the top two in the market, Stayintouch could be worth a second look. His fifth-place debut effort looked to be a strong race and that form has been franked on a couple of occasions. He could outrun his odds.

BEST BET – Wee Nessy

In a deep race it’s perhaps a little surprising to see Wee Nessy lead the market. Having had just the one start, his fifth place came in a highly competitive race at Ellerslie and a repeat of that run would see him go close – however inexperience could be what stops him.

THE DANGER – Cheerful Smile

If the inexperience of Wee Nessy is off putting then it could be worth siding with Cheerful Smile. Having placed in three of her last four starts at Metro level she should find conditions much easier here. She is the likely front runner and if offered a soft time up front she could be hard to catch.

VALUE BET – Dragon Blossom

Dragon Blossom is our long shot of the day. She is a consistent type that has placed in four of her last five races. Whilst there is a concern that she is yet to get off the mark in her last thirteen races, this could be the race where she finally puts it all together and gets off the mark.

BEST BET – Bradley

Bradley got off the mark at the eleventh time of asking but had been knocking on the door. Having placed three times previously at a higher level, this race looks very winnable and the extra distance that he is facing here could unlock even more.

THE DANGER – Bonnard 

Whilst Bradley took eleven races to finally land his win, Bonnard managed to get his win at just the second time of asking. Impressive at Avondale there could be much more to come and there could be plenty more improvement

VALUE BET – Sadhbh

Sadhbh is our value shot of the race. Another to get off the mark in his last start, he has just made the seven starts and connections will hope that another will quickly follow. Look for him to be towed along and for the gaps to appear and for him to flash home late.
