THE DANGER – Helosia

Helosia is another class dropper and resumes her career after having had 21 weeks off the track. She heads to Ruakaka having posted two consecutive third place efforts and will hope that it is a case of third time lucky here.

VALUE BET – Oratia Beauty

Oratia Beauty could be the value play of the contest. She has made the one start which was encouraging where she finished second out of the ten runners in the race. She resumes after a ten week break and could find herself right in the mix of things once again.

The sixth race of the day is a competitive looking handicap where several look to have a shot of winning. I’m Lulu is likely to start as the favourite and it’s easy to see why following her victory at the track a few weeks ago. She tries a new distance today and there is a hope that even more improvement will be unlocked.

THE DANGER – Because

We have flagged Because as one of the main dangers in this tricky betting heat. A winner last time out, this represents a step up in class and his record at the track isn’t the best. However, that past form could be made to look a mockery if he can continue his winning form here.

VALUE BET – King Khan

King Khan has won in this grade with a taking success at Otaki three weeks ago. Three horses have gone onto win since, his run at Pukekura two weeks ago can be discounted as he never got the breaks and granted a cleaner passage this time around, he could well play a part in proceedings and land the spoils at a big price.

In the penultimate race of the day Play It Again Sam is bound to have his followers. A winner at the track on his debut he actually takes a little class drop here and he could well follow that victory up here.

Life Of Riley has made just three career starts and has largely been improving with every run. Having finished second and third in his first two starts, he got off the mark with a victory at Arawa Park. Whilst that form hasn’t taken much of a boost, he should be competitive in this field.

VALUE BET – Just A Karin

Just A Karin is our long shot of the day. Having finally shed her maiden tag at Cambridge, she then backed that up with a decent fourth place finish the week after. Having been off the track for ten weeks, she takes a step down in trip here and could well run a big race at a big price.
