Gossip is set to start as the slim favourite in the fifth race of the day and connections will hope after three second place efforts, she will finally be able to poke her head in front. She can call upon the services of top jockey Craig Grylls here and a big run can be expected.

THE DANGER – King’s English

Well bred newcomers always need to be well respected in maiden races and King’s English could have too much ability for this field. There is always a leap of faith when backing a horse that has yet to take to the track but this doesn’t like this race will take too much winning.

VALUE BET – Feel The Stag

Feel The Stag has had two runs and has finished 4th and 3rd. There could be plenty more improvement to come and her form isn’t a mile behind the top two in the market. She could pull off the upset at a big price.

Top Shelf – 8.10

BEST BET – Miss Understood

The seventh race of the day is easily the most wide open. Miss Understood has just won one of her seven career starts but does bring in a solid level of consistency and should run another big race here. With four second place finishes and a win in her last five runs, she looks to be the one to beat here.

THE DANGER – Bellezor

Bellezor has won three of her sixteen starts and knows how to compete and win races in this grade. She has gone seven races without a victory but looked to be returning to form with a promising third at the track a month ago. She could be raring to go here.

VALUE BET – Top Shelf

Top Shelf looks to be one of the least exposed horses in the field. She has just posted three runs and has form figures that read 4 1 2. Whilst this is a tougher assignment, her form is hard to ignore and in a racer where so many are struggling she looks a brilliant value bet.

Sweet Envy – 14.20

Snowflake – 19.00

BEST BET – Luvabeel

Luvabeel looks to have been found the ideal assignment to shed her maiden tag in the second race of the day. She has been of the track since February and takes a big drop in class here. Yes, there are unknowns with regards to her fitness but if fit and firing she could have way too much ability for the bulk of this field.

THE DANGER – Sweet Envy

Usually experience in horse racing can be such a good thing, that isn’t necessarily the case when it comes to Maiden racing. Sweet Envy has had 24 cracks at trying to finish first but as of yet is yet to taste success. However, there have been several near misses in that time and she arrives here off the back of two second place efforts and should see herself in contention once again.

VALUE BET – Snowflake

Snowflake is an interesting contender. Having just made five starts, it’s fair to say she has largely flattered to deceive but that shouldn’t mean she is without a chance here. Her second on debut was encouraging and if she can repeat that effort, she could well have a part to play here.
