Easily boasting the best form of the race when she placed second in the Grade 2 Fillies Classic, her last run can be forgiven as that was her first start in well over seven months. Clearly she needed the run and with that behind her now should be ready to land a race of this calibre. Craig Grylls takes the ride.

THE DANGER – Mr Marigold

The most obvious danger looks to be Mr Marigold. A veteran of fourteen starts, his form isn’t quite to the level of Top Shelf, but he does take a drop down in class here and has to be respected. A winner of just one of his fourteen starts, he is by no means prolific but looks to be the best of the rest.

VALUE BET – Eddie’s Dream

Eddie’s Dream is our value play of the contest and this consistent type should find himself in the business end of proceedings once again. Although he has just won the once, he has finished second in three of his last five and should give his running once more.

Intoxicated is another big hope for the day and there is a major hope that under the guidance of the brilliant Opie Boisson he will finally be able to poke his head in front. He has made seven starts and has finished second in four of those contests. Tough and consistent, his time could finally be here.

THE DANGER – Popsicles

In a race where several look to hold real win possibilities, one horse to keep an eye on could be Popsicles. Whilst his form isn’t overly spectacular, he showed improvement on his second start and there could be more to come here. He can’t be discounted.

VALUE BET – Our Shocks

At a big price, Our Shocks could well cause a shock or two. Yet to win after six starts, he heads into this race fresh off the back off a third and second place effort and the penny finally seems to have dropped. Whilst this race will still take some winning, his chances can’t totally be dismissed.

BEST BET – Savvysuper

Despite only finishing eighth on his debut, Savvysuper will be a popular horse to follow in the third race of the day. With his connections clearly disappointed with how things turned out on debut he returns to the track for the first time in four months and takes a step down in class. Whilst he still had plenty to prove, he could just be a bit too good for the bulk of this field.

THE DANGER – Smart Tip

In a race where there are several hopeful of leaving an impression, Smart Tip is one that needs to be followed. Whilst he is winless in all twelve starts, he has filled second place in his last two races and is thriving. This looks like another golden opportunity to get off the mark and he could finally do it.

VALUE BET – Fracas

Fracas is our long shot of the day and despite his huge price, he could well make his current price look silly. Having made just four career starts, he could still be improving and as of yet is yet to finish any worse than fourth. Conditions could be on the testing side but he could run a really big race and can’t be ignored.
