76ers vs Pacers Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips – NBA 29 October

Quick Pick
- Our pick: Under 238.5 Total Points @ $1.91 (Zotabet)
- Prediction: 76ers to win, 114-110
- Confidence: 3/5
- Tip-off: Thursday 29 October, 12:00pm NZT
- Arena: Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis
The Philadelphia 76ers visit the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with tip-off at 12:00pm NZT on Thursday 29 October. Philadelphia won all four meetings last season, but Tyrese Haliburton didn’t play in any of them.
He’s back from his Achilles tear now, and this is his first look at a 76ers side that added LeBron James and Jaylen Brown in the off-season. For NBA betting, I think the total is where the value is.
76ers vs Pacers Analysis
Philadelphia 76ers
Last 4: W-W-W-L · Record: 3-1 · ATS: 2-2
I believe in Philadelphia’s defence far more than their shooting right now. They’re at 31.7% from three this season, and Brown went 5-for-20 in Sunday’s 106-93 loss to Detroit.
Joel Embiid rested for that game, a day after his 28-point triple-double against Milwaukee. Two days off should mean he and James both play. Tyrese Maxey is their steady guy, and he scored 29 against the Pistons.
Indiana Pacers
Last 4: W-L-W-L · Record: 2-2 · ATS: 2-2
Haliburton looks sharp. He’s averaging 21.8 points and 9.5 assists through four games, which is close to his numbers from the 2025 Finals season.
I’m less hot on the roster around him though. Ivica Zubac rolled his ankle in Brooklyn, so Jay Huff started at centre in Monday’s 110-102 loss to Milwaukee, where Indiana shot 13-for-48 from deep. They’ve had just one day off since that back-to-back, and they still owe their home crowd a win after losing to Dallas.

(1) Embiid missed Sunday’s loss to Detroit for right plantar fasciitis management. Philadelphia are resting him on the second night of back-to-backs, and two days off should have him available.
(2) Edgecombe missed the Pistons game with an abdominal issue. His status for Thursday hasn’t been confirmed.
(3) Barlow hurt his back before the opener, and the 76ers said on 19 October he would miss at least two weeks.
(4) Zubac sprained his left ankle against Brooklyn on Sunday and missed Monday’s game. His X-ray was negative, but he has been ruled out again.
(5) Nembhard missed Monday’s loss in Milwaukee with neck stiffness, his first absence of the season.
(6) McConnell has a right hamstring strain and missed Monday’s game in Milwaukee.
(7) Sheppard tore the meniscus in his left knee and is scheduled for surgery this week. Rick Carlisle has said he could miss a few weeks.
(8) Furphy is out for the season after tearing his right ACL.
Losing Zubac hurts Indiana most, as their other bigs give up a lot of size to Embiid inside.

76ers vs Pacers Prediction
I expect a Philadelphia win here. They have more ways to score late when the pace drops, and Indiana’s shooting has swung wildly from game to game.
I’m less sure about the margin, though. Haliburton will create plenty at home, and a 1.5-point Line is close to a coin flip.
The total is where I’m confident. Last season’s four meetings averaged 221.3 combined points, about 17 below this line. If Embiid is ruled out late, I’d wait and check the total on live betting sites after the first quarter.
My prediction: 76ers 114-110.
76ers vs Pacers – The Ultimate Bet
Under 238.5 Total Points – $1.91
Only one of Philadelphia’s four games this season would have gone over 238.5.
With Embiid back, I expect them to slow things down and work the ball inside. Indiana are also short on guards, which hurts their bench scoring.
