GET READY FOR ROUND 10 - All You Need to Know Before Kick-off

NRL Round 10 Preview
News Highlights
- Broncos captain Adam Reynolds is out this round after a failed HIA.
- The Storm have now lost seven games in a row, the first time in the club’s history.
- Deine Mariner needed “limb-saving” surgery on his leg after the Broncos clash against the Roosters.
We head into Round 10 of the 2026 season, and there have, as always, been plenty of stories to develop from the last round. All eyes will be on the Melbourne Storm this round to see if they can finally put an end to their seven-game losing streak (which is the worst in club history. If it’s happening in the NRL, the BettingTop10 team have got you covered.
The Panthers Scrape Through With Another Win
It’s the Penrith Panthers that remain cemented at the top of the ladder, and their NRL betting odds to win the Premiership are seemingly getting shorter by the day. Their last few wins haven’t been that convincing, though, so there’s still a chance for other teams to make a run.
They beat the Manly Sea Eagles by just two points last round, and in Round 7, they needed golden point to dispatch the Dolphins. So, while their record sits at 8-1, looks can be deceiving, especially recently!
Could the off-field drama be distracting the Premiership favourite? The rumours are swirling around several Panthers players who are strongly linked to the PNG Chiefs, and with any cash being offered coming tax-free, it’s easy to see why. The likes of Brian To’o, Isaah Yeo, Liam Martin and Mitch Kenny have all been linked to the Chiefs.
From one big cat to another, the Wests Tigers seem to be on struggle street right now, thanks to suspensions and injuries. Watching both Adam Doueihi and Samuela Fainu go down with an injury in their clash against the Sharks was hard to watch.
This is especially the case when you consider Jahream Bula and Api Koroisau are still out as well. And speaking of Bula, the fullback has just inked a multi-year contract to stay with the Tigers! We also see that Kai Pearce-Paul will be back for their clash against the Storm. So it’s not all bad.
The Sydney Roosters keep climbing the ladder and are now in third spot. They have won five games in a row and will be looking for six with a win over the Gold Coast Titans in this round. But they’ll have to do it without some key players. Lindsay Collins and Mark Nawaquanitawase are both out.
The Pack: The Knights Can Sharpen Their Swords Now
It wasn’t that long ago that the Newcastle Knights were in the top four; they have come back down to Earth, but they still look good to sneak into the top eight. They lost some vital players early on in the season, and now they’re back, and the Knights are a sneaky threat.
They play the St. George Illawarra Dragons this round, and come into that game as the favourites even though they’re heading on the road. In Round 9, they got the win over the Rabbitohs in a high-scoring affair. It was a narrow 42-38 win, but it is still two points in the bank.
Winning three of their last five games, the Brisbane Broncos aren’t exactly a model of consistency. Now, captain Adam Reynolds is out after failing his HIA, and Deine Mariner is out indefinitely after undergoing emergency surgery on his leg in the early hours of Sunday morning.
They are currently sitting just outside the eight, and face off against the Sea Eagles this round on the road. The 2025 Premiers will need to be careful, as another loss here could see a fairly significant slip, with so many teams bunched together on eight and 10 points.
Wooden Spoon Watch: The Storm, The Losing Streak, The Bellamy Diagnosis
While it’s the Dragons that are sitting right at the bottom of the table, and are yet to chalk up their first win of the 2026 season, more attention is on the fall of the Storm at the moment. They have lost a record-breaking (for the club) seven games in a row.
That’s right, they haven’t won since Round 2, and that win was over the Dragons, the only team that sits below them on the ladder. Coach Craig Bellamy is under all sorts of pressure, and news broke last week that he has been diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disorder.
The Storm face off against the Tigers in Round 10, and in some rare good news, they’ll welcome back Jahrome Hughes to the fold. It will be the comeback for the ages if the Storm manage a top-eight finish at the end of the season, but if anyone can do it, it’s Bellamy.
Now, we can’t forget about the Dragons. Not a lot is going right this season, but at least they got rid of that big goose egg, right? Well, their two Premiership points came courtesy of the bye, but the positive momentum has to start somewhere!
