New Zealand Warriors vs Penrith Panthers

  • New Zealand Warriors NRL
  • Penrith Panthers NRL

August 7, 20:00, Go Media Stadium

I had to include what looks to be the game of the round in my multi bet! Two top-four teams do battle in New Zealand, and the Warriors will be hoping for another win, so they can improve their chances of finishing in the top two. Finishing in the top two means they get home finals all the way up to the Grand Final.

Both sides have won three of their last five, and they put on a clinic against their opponents last time out. In Round 13, the Warriors and Panthers played each other in an epic affair, with the Panthers just edging out the Warriors 20-18. With this one being played in New Zealand, I think the Warriors can at least keep it close.

Take the Warriors +5.5 @ NZ$1.90

Sydney Roosters vs Canterbury Bulldogs

  • Sydney Roosters NRL
  • Canterbury Bulldogs NRL

August 7, 22:00, Allianz Stadium

The Roosters have managed to win in recent weeks, even without playing at their best. They did, however, put on a show last time out, dismantling the Cowboys, 82-12. The Bulldogs are a side that’s peaking at the right time as well, winning four of their last five, and are currently sitting just inside the top-eight.

If both teams are on point, which it looks like they will be, this one could very well be a high-scoring affair. The weather is looking good in Sydney for Friday as well, so expect a dry, fast track. The Roosters are good enough to win this one, but there’s certainly more value in taking the overs in total points.

Take the total points over 44.5 @ NZ$1.90.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Parramatta Eels

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL
  • Parramatta Eels

August 8, 21:35, Allianz Stadium

The Rabbitohs haven’t exactly been consistent this season. This is mainly down to all the injuries they’ve had to deal with. However, they still find themselves in the top eight at the pointy end of the season. David Fifita returns from suspension for this one, but we still don’t know when Latrell Mitchell will make an appearance.

Even without a full-strength squad, the Rabbitohs are good enough to take down the Eels, especially if the Eels’ last game was anything to go by! They did manage to get the win last time out over the Tigers, but they practically gifted the game to their opponent. The Rabbitohs have more to play for and could be looking for a statement win.

Take the Rabbitohs -7.5 @ NZ$1.86.
