Arsenal vs Lille Prediction: Betting Tips & Odds

Arsenal vs Lille Prediction
Lille have never faced Arsenal in a competitive match.
That changes at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday morning NZT, with an 8am kickoff, when the Ligue 1 high-flyers meet the Premier League champions in round two of the Champions League league phase. Arsenal are 13 wins deep in this format, while Lille lost their opener at home to Real Betis.
I’ve gone through form and team news for both clubs in this Arsenal vs Lille preview, and I’m not touching the short price on the hosts.
There’s a goals-linked angle at even money instead for anyone looking to bet on football this week.
Arsenal vs Lille Analysis
Arsenal
Arsenal haven’t dropped a point in the league phase since Inter Milan beat them 1-0 in November 2024, and that streak of 13 wins rolled on in Naples last month.
I’d argue the 1-0 flattered Napoli. Martin Odegaard scored the only goal with 15 minutes left, but Arsenal racked up 4.05 xG that night, the highest single-game total in the club’s Champions League history.
Their defence is what bugs me.
They conceded once in their first six games of the season, then let in six across the next three. Brighton put three past them in a 3-0 league defeat, and James Justin had Leeds in front at the Emirates on 10 October before Riccardo Calafiori and Bruno Guimaraes turned it around for a 2-1 win.
I expect changes with Nottingham Forest away on Sunday. Viktor Gyokeres should start - his first Champions League game and goal both came against Lille for Sporting in 2024.
Team News: Saliba (back) and Tzolis (hamstring) are out. Hincapie is expected to miss out after hurting his ankle in the warm-down against Leeds.
Predicted Lineup: Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Guimaraes; Saka, Odegaard, Eze; Gyokeres.
Lille
Lille are better than their 3-2 loss to Betis suggests.
They led twice at Stade Pierre-Mauroy and went into the break 2-1 up. Within 11 minutes of the restart they’d lost the lead and a player, with Marc Bartra and Troy Parrott scoring before a red card left them with 10 men.
Six points from three Ligue 1 games has followed, with a 2-1 loss at Nice in between wins over Troyes and Le Havre. Dilane Bakwa, on loan from Nottingham Forest, scored the only goal against Le Havre on 10 October and they’re now second, a point off Monaco.
Ayase Ueda scored against Betis and should lead the line ahead of 40-year-old Olivier Giroud. Lille have scored in each of their last six games in all competitions, and if they nick one here, I’d expect it late with Arsenal pushing for more. I’d watch the second-half markets on the best live sports betting sites if it’s only 1-0 at the break.
Team News: Mbappe is suspended and injured. Igamane (knee) is out long term. Tiago Santos (knee) is a major doubt, while Perraud and Onal are fitness concerns.
Predicted Lineup: Ozer; Ngoy, Nianzou, Alexsandro, Verdonk; Andre, Bentaleb; Bakwa, Haraldsson, Perrin; Ueda.
Arsenal vs Lille Stats and Trends
- Arsenal have scored three or more goals in five of their last six home league-phase games.
- Arsenal have lost just two of their last 31 league-phase or group-stage games in UEFA competitions.
- Lille have lost their last eight away games against English clubs.
- Lille’s last away win in England came at Aston Villa in the 2002 Intertoto Cup.
- This is the first competitive meeting between the clubs.
Arsenal vs Lille Prediction
Arsenal win this.
What I’m less sure about is whether they keep a clean sheet. Their defence has looked shaky since the trip to Ipswich, and a reshuffled back four against a Lille attack that’s scored in six straight doesn’t scream shutout to me.
So I’m passing on the win to nil, which plenty of tipsters seem to like.
Rotation is the wildcard. Arsenal could ring five changes with Forest coming up, and a fresh Gyokeres against tired legs feels like a decent anytime scorer punt.
I’m going 3-1. Saka and Eze running at full-backs in the last half hour is a mismatch at the Emirates, and I reckon Lille pay for it.
It’s a guess, and a 2-0 wouldn’t shock me at all. But I’d rather be on goals here.

Arsenal vs Lille - The Ultimate Bet
Arsenal to Win and Over 2.5 Goals @ $2.00
Four of Arsenal’s last six games in all competitions have gone over 2.5 goals, including the Chelsea, Ipswich and Leeds wins.
Lille scored twice inside 36 minutes against Betis, and they’ll need to attack again here after losing that one. Any Arsenal win where Lille score cashes this, and so does a 3-0.
I’ll take the even money on New Zealand betting sites before the team sheets drop.
