Football Multi Bet: $10.05 Tip for Thursday

Football Multi Bet
Thursday’s Champions League second legs offer an enticing football multi bet I’ve been mulling over all week. Two of these ties look done on paper, but there’s enough nuance in the markets to squeeze out a healthy return still. I’m backing a three-leg multi across Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, with goal markets and a gutsy away win tipping us just past the 10x mark on most betting sites in New Zealand.

Liverpool vs Galatasaray
Thursday March 19, 9:00am NZT, Anfield
Dominik Szoboszlai has landed four direct free-kick goals in the Premier League this season – more than any other player in the league. He’s the form man for Liverpool right now, and I think he’ll be central to overturning this 1-0 first-leg deficit.
The hosts will need to attack from the get go. I expect they’ll find success, given they’ve scored in seven of nine Champions League games this season. But Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen has seven European goals of his own and caused havoc against Juventus across both playoff legs. They won’t sit back.
My football betting tips here lean towards a Liverpool win where both teams will find the net. That bumps the price to a handy $2.10.
Bayern Munich vs Atalanta
Thursday March 19, 9:00am NZT, Allianz Arena
This tie is over, given Bayern ran in six goals to one in the first leg. But I’m not only after a home win here - I’m tipping on the goal market again.
Michael Olise scored twice in Bergamo but he’s suspended for this one alongside Joshua Kimmich, with both picking up yellow cards late in the first leg. Jamal Musiala is also in doubt after an ankle flare-up, though Vincent Kompany hinted he could return to training early this week.
Even so, Bayern have scored 28 in nine Champions League games this season, over three per match.
Atalanta, meanwhile, have lost seven of their last eight knockout ties across European competition. This one’s a formality, but adding in the over 2.5 goals market gives us a respectable return with little additional risk.
Tottenham vs Atletico Madrid
Thursday March 19, 9:00am NZT, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
$2.90 for an Atletico Madrid away win. That number jumped off the page when I checked betting apps in NZ earlier today. I know – Tottenham are unbeaten in 24 home European games stretching back to 2020. But this isn’t really the same club.
They’d lost six on the bounce before Sunday’s late 1-1 draw at Liverpool. Igor Tudor has zero wins from five matches.
On the other side of the pitch, Julian Alvarez scored twice in the first leg and Antoine Griezmann, is playing the best football of his career. Atletico have won three straight. They don’t need heroics here, just composure. Keep an eye on this one – I reckon the visitors will wrap it up comfortably.
