Football Multi Bet

I’m combining a Real Madrid handicap with two outright winners for this Friday’s La Liga football multi bet. A Conference League finalist away from home and a side targeting Girona’s horrible record give this multi its value, with the Madrid leg adding ballast. Combined odds of $11.00, could be worse.

Real Madrid vs Real Oviedo

Friday May 15, 7:30am NZT, Santiago Bernabeu

Oviedo are bottom of La Liga with 29 points and just six wins from 35 games. They’ve scored 26 goals all season - fewest in the division - and drew 0-0 at home to Getafe last weekend.

Kylian Mbappe has 24 league goals and Vinicius Junior has 15. Even with seven first-team players injured, Madrid should handle this comfortably. They won 3-0 at Oviedo in the reverse fixture, and the H2H reads four wins and three draws from seven meetings - Oviedo have never beaten them.

At $1.60 on the -1.5 handicap across NZ betting sites, I’m confident.

Valencia vs Rayo Vallecano

Friday May 15, 5:00am NZT, Mestalla

Rayo have won four of their last five across all competitions heading into this one - a 2-0 win at Getafe and back-to-back 1-0 victories over Strasbourg in the Conference League semis being the highlights. They’re in a European final later this month. Jorge de Frutos has 10 league goals this season and I think he’s the danger man here.

Valencia won 1-0 at Athletic Club last weekend through a late Umar Sadiq header. Before that? Four points from a possible 15 in the league. A 2-0 home loss to Atletico Madrid was the low point. My football betting tips for this one are to back Rayo at $2.75. Mestalla can be awkward, sure, but I’d rather be on the side heading to a European final.

Girona vs Real Sociedad

Friday May 15, 6:00am NZT, Montilivi

Girona are on 39 points and have been plagued by injuries all season. Vladyslav Vanat, Portu, and Donny van de Beek are all long-term absentees, and Abel Ruiz isn’t expected back either. Nine league wins all season.

La Real won both fixtures against Girona last season and are unbeaten in 10 straight meetings. They’ve been sloppy themselves - a pair of 3-3 draws against Rayo and Alaves in recent weeks. But Girona’s record against them is dire, and at $2.50 on betting apps NZ I reckon there’s enough value for a Sociedad win.
