Football Multi Bet: $11.44 Tip for Friday

Three La Liga matches on Friday morning NZT, all from different ends of the table, and I’ve found a football multi bet across them that I like the look of. Two of the three sides I’m tipping are at home, and the common thread is that their opponents are all in dire form. Combined odds come in at $11.44.

Rayo Vallecano vs Espanyol

Friday April 24, 6:00am NZT, Campo de Futbol de Vallecas

Espanyol haven’t won a game in 14 attempts. Nine defeats and five draws since January, and their last result was a 4-1 hammering by Barcelona.

Rayo aren’t in great form themselves - they lost 3-0 to Mallorca in their most recent league outing - but at Vallecas it’s been a different proposition. Five wins and only two defeats from their last 10 home games. My football expert tips for this fixture factor in Rayo’s defensive issues (Florian Lejeune and Nobel Mendy are both suspended), but Espanyol have four wins from 16 away games all season and I still can’t look past the hosts at $2.20.

Real Oviedo vs Villarreal

Friday April 24, 7:30am NZT, Estadio Carlos Tartiere

I’m less certain on this one than I’d like to be. Oviedo are bottom of La Liga with 27 points, but they’ve won three of their last five - a 3-0 thumping of Celta Vigo away and a 1-0 result over Sevilla among them.

Villarreal are third, though, and they’ve lost once in their last eight league games. The 34-point gap between these sides should be the deciding factor, even if Oviedo fancy themselves right now. I’m going with Villarreal at $2.00 on betting apps NZ and hoping Oviedo’s revival doesn’t derail things here.

Levante vs Sevilla

Friday April 24, 5:00am NZT, Estadio Ciudad de Valencia

This is where I’m getting my value and where I could also come unstuck. Levante are 19th and Sevilla 16th, so there’s nothing between them on paper. Carlos Espi has seven goals in his last six La Liga appearances and won La Liga’s Best Player of March - he’s the main reason Levante have won three of their last four at home.

Sevilla did beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 last time out, which complicates my argument. But that win broke a five-match winless run that included three straight defeats, and they’ve been dealing with injuries and suspensions all month. Cesar Azpilicueta is out long-term, and Djibril Sow has been managing a fitness issue - he only came off the bench against Atletico after missing the previous start.

Levante won the reverse fixture 3-0 back in January at Sevilla’s ground. At $2.60 on betting sites NZ, I’m backing them to do it again on home turf and close out the multi.
