Football Multi Bet: $7.20 Tip for Monday

It’s the last day of the Premier League season and there’s no shortage of motivation floating around. Relegation, European football, Guardiola’s farewell – every match has a juicy subplot. 

I’ve found three legs where the team with more to play for is priced generously enough to combine into a football multi bet worth backing on Monday morning.

Monday May 25, 3:00am NZT, City Ground

Bournemouth have already locked in Europa League football at a minimum – a first in their history – but there’s still plenty to chase. If results go their way on the final day, a Champions League spot isn’t out of the question. 

This is also Andoni Iraola’s last game in charge before handing over to Marco Rose, and I don’t see him going out quietly.

Forest are safe on 43 points and done for the year. Their home form has been among the worst in the top half – four wins from 18 at the City Ground in the league. Bournemouth have lost just five of 18 away games this season, and Antoine Semenyo’s 16 goals give them a genuine goal threat on the road. 

I’ve looked at the football tips for this one and Bournemouth at $2.05 away is where I’m starting.

Monday May 25, 3:00am NZT, London Stadium

West Ham have to win this and then hope Everton do them a favour at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A Spurs draw would still save them – Spurs are 12 goals better off on goal difference – so West Ham realistically need a Spurs defeat, not just a slip.

I won’t pretend this is a comfortable pick. West Ham have won just nine league games all season and their form has been poor – one win from their last five. But final-day survival pressure does strange things to a side. Leeds are safe on 47 points with nothing riding on it, and they lost both meetings with West Ham earlier this season. 

At $1.85 on the best betting sites in NZ, I think West Ham’s desperation gets them over the line.

Monday May 25, 3:00am NZT, AMEX Stadium

Brighton are seventh on 53 points and chasing a Conference League place. Danny Welbeck scored twice to beat Liverpool 2-1 at the AMEX back in March, and since then they’ve won at Burnley, drawn at Spurs, put three past Chelsea at home, and gone unbeaten in their last four here. Fabian Hurzeler’s side aren’t winding down.

Manchester United are third on 68 points and already in the Champions League. Michael Carrick has done a strong job since taking over as interim manager in January, but I’d expect rotation here with the season wrapped up. Brighton’s home record and their hunger for three points tips it.
