Saturday brings the second round of group games across Groups C and D, and a couple of them are far from settled. I fancy Brazil and the USA to handle their fixtures, but Scotland vs Morocco and Turkiye vs Paraguay look tight.

I went through the World Cup 2026 odds and pulled four match results into a parlay at $6.97. If you’ve got free bets spare, this is a decent card to put them to work.

Top Picks for World Cup Day 9 | June 20

USA vs Australia

USA to win ($1.61)

Home advantage in Seattle and a 4-1 demolition of Paraguay have the USA priced as strong favourites, and I agree with the market. Folarin Balogun got off the mark in that opener and looked sharp leading the line.

Australia did their job too, a 2-0 win over Turkiye, so both sides arrive on three points with a knockout spot all but booked.

That’s my one worry. A draw suits both teams perfectly, and Australia are happy to defend deep and frustrate, exactly as they did in shutting Turkiye out.

I still think the hosts have too much in the final third in front of a packed Lumen Field, and the USA have lost only one of their four meetings with Australia. Worth a look at NZ betting sites for the match result.

✓ Long Shot: USA -1.5 ($2.90)

✓ Extra Tip: Under 2.5 goals ($1.55)

Scotland vs Morocco

Morocco to win ($1.95)

Here’s where I’m least confident. Scotland are top of Group C after John McGinn’s first-half goal beat Haiti, and a draw here would leave them in a commanding spot before they face Brazil. Scotland will be content to dig in and grind out a point.

Morocco are the better side on paper, though.

They drew 1-1 with Brazil, Ismael Saibari opening the scoring before Vinicius Junior levelled, and that was no fluke. Achraf Hakimi gives them real thrust from right-back, and at 7th in the world they’re 35 places above Scotland. Morocco need the win more, and their attackers are a cut above. I think that edges them through, but it won’t be comfortable.

Most betting apps have Morocco around $1.95, which I’ll take in a tight one.

✓ Long Shot: Ismael Saibari anytime scorer ($2.60)

✓ Extra Tip: Under 2.5 goals ($1.70)

Brazil vs Haiti

Brazil to win ($1.11)

No drama expected in this one. Brazil were held 1-1 by Morocco in their opener - Vinicius Junior with the goal - but it’s a result will have frustrated them more than worried them I reckon.

Against Haiti, I can’t see anything other than a comfortable Brazilian win.

Haiti are at their first World Cup since 1974 and lost 1-0 to Scotland while offering very little going forward. Their plan is to defend deep and break on the counter, which works right up until Raphinha and Vinicius start combining out wide.

Brazil have far too much pace for this Haiti back line to cope with over 90 minutes. At $1.11 this is a parlay banker rather than a standalone bet, and that’s exactly how I’ve used it.

Plenty of football betting sites price the goals markets far more generously if you want value.

✓ Long Shot: Brazil -2.5 ($2.40)

✓ Extra Tip: Over 2.5 goals ($1.33)

Turkiye vs Paraguay

Turkiye to win ($2.00)

Both teams lost their openers, so the loser here is all but out.

Turkiye went down 2-0 to Australia and looked blunt, while Paraguay were taken apart 4-1 by the USA, three goals down by half-time. That Paraguay defence was meant to be their calling card after conceding just 10 across 18 qualifiers, so shipping four in one afternoon was a real alarm.

I’ll side with Turkiye at evens.

Arda Guler is the most gifted creator on the pitch and Kerem Akturkoglu gives them an outlet out wide. Paraguay will be more compact than they were against the Americans, so I’m not expecting a rout, and Turkiye’s own finishing was poor in game one.

But on talent alone I think they edge a nervy night in Santa Clara.

✓ Long Shot: Kerem Akturkoglu anytime scorer ($3.20)

✓ Extra Tip: Under 2.5 goals ($1.65)
