Saturday Racing Tips - Riccarton Park 11/04/26

The best racing in New Zealand this Saturday comes from Riccarton Park where the action is headlined by the Tab Southern Alps Challenge.

Ahead of the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips. As well as our exclusive tips we have highlighted three races which look to be the most competitive of the day. BEST BET – Perlino

Perlino is our best bet of the day and will prove popular in the betting. Having won two of her five stars she heads to Riccarton looking to back up her last win a month ago. She will love the ground and should go well once again.

THE DANGER – Miss Starlight

Miss Starlight will be one of the main dangers. She has won three of her nine races and was unlucky not to have made it a fourth when finishing a narrow third in the Liquorland Gore Guineas last week. She is in good form and is race fit, she should go close.

VALUE BET – Aishiteru

Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson horses always demand respect and at a decent price, Aishiteru should be worth a second look. She is one of the least exposed horses in the line up and and will be looking for a second win in four starts. She could be classy and could be worth chancing.

Spot on Time - 5.00

Pizarro – 7.00

BEST BET – Spot on Time

Spot on Time is one of the most intriguing horses on the card. Chasing a five timer, he has won four of his five starts at the track and should go well again. This will be his first start since October and as long as fitness isn’t a concern a big run can be expected.

THE DANGER – Master Brutus

Master Brutus is likely to jump off as the favourite and he will be looking to back up his win at Ashburton last time out. He has raced at a higher level than this in the past and will be a massive danger to all.

VALUE BET – Pizarro

Pizarro is lurking on a big price and considering his recent exploits he could be worth siding with. A run of three wins was broken with a second last time out at this track. With a win and a second here, he looks like one of the value plays of the day.

BEST BET – Aladdins Jem

In the Tab Southern Alps Challenge, Aladdins Jem will be a popular selection. A winner of two of her last three, her win win in the Odt Southern Mile Final is some of the best form in the field. A repeat of that will see her go close.

THE DANGER – Stonybreck

Stonybreck is one to watch. Representing top class connections, he has a decent record here with one win and two places efforts from his five runs at the track. He was third last time out in the Hororata Gold Cup and another big run can be expected.

VALUE BET – Inflamed

Inflamed is our value play of the card and has won her last two starts. Her win last time out in the Beaumont Publicans Cup is a great piece of form and with that win coming here, a bold run looks on the cards.
