Quick Analysis:

There’s a lot of quality in the 2026 edition of the Queen of the Turf Stakes, but I’ll be on Lady Shenandoah. She’s had a three-week break since we saw her in the George Ryder Stakes. She didn’t have the best of luck in that one, but still ran well to finish fourth. Back against her own sex now, and I think she’s one of the fittest runners. Value at the $4.00 mark.

Quick Analysis:

Taken gets absolutely no favours with the barrier draw, but the $5.00 is too good to pass up. He finished second last time out and did look like the winner for a long time, but just got pipped by 0.35L in the end. He gets another crack at the mile today, and as long as he doesn’t get too wide, he’ll give them all a sight in the closing stages.

Quick Analysis:

Now for the main event: the Queen Elizabeth Stakes! I have to go with Autumn Glow, she’s the heavy favourite, and there isn’t a lot of value around her, but one to include in exotics or multis for today. Is there anything this mare can’t do? Her career record currently stands at 11:11-0-0, including three Group 1 wins. Small field, draws barrier two, so much to like.

Stats and Insights

  • Gin Twist has been consistent in all starts to date and comes from a respected stable. She looks a key contender in this field in Race 3 at Caulfield.
  • Ohope Wins is the New Zealand Oaks winner and was solid in her Australian debut. She looks ideally suited, rising to 2,400m and can improve sharply in Race 5 at Randwick.
  • Too Darn Stormy just missed as a favourite last start at Ascot and remains in strong form. He looks a leading chance to break through in Race 6 at Ascot.
