A competitive card awaits at Wingatui where ten open races look to provide plenty of value for punters. The headline contest is the Dunedin Guineas.

THE DANGER – Alottago

The main danger is Alottago. He has double the experience of Luna Capella and has two wins from eight starts. Having placed in Graded and Listed company he is the benchmark, but he could be vulnerable to an improver.

VALUE BET – Hello Hayley

If those at the top of the market aren’t inspiring confidence, then Hello Hayley could be a good alternative at a price. She finished ahead of Luna Capella in the Southland Guineas and she looks to represent some superb value.

BEST BET – Witz End

Witz End is our selection for the Grade 3 White Robe Lodge. With two wins in his last three starts, it could be argued that he is the form horse of the race. He has placed at Grade 3 and Grade 2 level but is yet to taste victory at this level. Connections will hope that changes here.

THE DANGER – Sir Albert

The obvious danger looks to be from Sir Albert. Likely to be the favourite, he is an experienced campaigner but has been found wanting at this level. He is capable but whether he can piece it altogether remains to be seen.

VALUE BET – The Entertainer

With the White Robe Lodge looking incredibly open, The Entertainer could be a great shout at a big price. A winner last time out, that victory came on a heavy ground and if the ground turns soft, conditions could be ideal for another big run.

Court Of Appeal represents some of the best connections in the New Zealand and will jump as the favourite for this race. He comes into this race fresh off a win at Riccarton ten days ago. He is in form and could be hard to beat here.

THE DANGER – Mayor Of Norwood

The danger could lie with Mayor Of Norwood. With two wins in his last three he is another form horse and each of those wins came at this venue. He is a track specialist and is versatile ground wise, he could be a real threat to those at the top of the market.

VALUE BET – In Vegas

Another horse with a decent record around Wingatui is In Vegas. A winner at the track when he last raced it in early February, he has been off since and that could prove to be in his favour. A front runner, look for him to dictate the fractions and expect another bold bid from the front here.
