Sunday Racing Tips - Wingatui 15/03/26

The Wingatui card this Sunday is headlined by the Mosgiel Tavern Beaumont Publican's Cup.

Ahead of this and the first race we have run our eye through the card and picked out some of our best horse racing tips.

Fah Wrong – 7.00

BEST BET – Unwoke

On a card where picking winners is tricky, Unwoke could get punters off to the perfect start in the first race of the day. A seven-race maiden, he has placed on three occasions and has generally bumped into one when he has narrowly lost. Those types of horses seem absent here, and he is the one who sets the standard.

THE DANGER – Fah Wrong

In a race lacking depth, the danger could come from Fah Wrong. A sixteen-runner maiden, he has had chances, but it could be that the penny is finally dropping. He has placed in each of his last three starts and he is trending in the right direction. It could be a case of seventeenth time lucky.

VALUE BET – Warrior Boy

In what is a weak looking race, it could be worth siding with a newcomer and the market is indicating that Warrior Boy could be the one to be on. Bred to be decent, it won’t take too much to play a part here.

BEST BET – Boss ‘N’ Highheels

In the fourth contest of the day, Boss ‘N’ Highheels will start as the favourite but she could be vulnerable. A no show in her last three starts, she has won four times but if producing her best like she did at Te Repa four starts ago, she could be a match for most.

THE DANGER – Linara

We think that Linara could be the pick here. He has placed in two of his last races with both of those efforts coming at the track. He is taking a small drop down in class here, and there is plenty to like.

VALUE BET – Balzano

Balzano could be one of the biggest prices winners of the day and although he is a big price, he was once considered good enough to compete in Group 1 company. He has track winning experience and has also placed. A return to familiar surroundings could unlock his best.

Inflamed – 5.00

O’riordan – 10.00

BEST BET – Monaghan Boy

In the feature race of the day, many will be attracted to Monaghan Boy. With four places in his last five including a win, he is a veteran of this course, and one of his four career wins have come here. He will likely be the pace angle of the race and could take some stopping if allowed a soft lead in front.

THE DANGER – Inflamed

When it comes to form and class the obvious angle is Inflamed. Having been tried at listed level, handicaps are more up his street, and he is a consistent force at this level. A third of his wins have come at this track and he could be the main danger to the rest.

VALUE BET – O’riordan

O’riordan is our value selection of the day, and he has been consistent of late. He will likely try to dictate the fractions, and he was super impressive when routing the field on his last start at Riccarton Park. If producing something similar, his current odds could look vastly overpriced.
