Quick Analysis:

Purple Streak looks to be a pretty good horse, and while there’s not a lot of racing under his belt, I think he’ll win this. Last time out, he won at Werribee, and this looks to be a significant step up; that run was very impressive. He seemed as though he didn’t even really try in that one and still got the victory. A kick over trial since, and draws well for this one.

Quick Analysis:

Staying in Caulfield for the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes, and Buckaroo is the narrow favourite. He was scratched from the All-Star Mile last week, so there’s a small fitness concern, but I don’t think Chris Waller would put him in this one if he wasn’t ready. His first-up run this prep was great, finishing second in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes, with odds of $31. He is as consistent as they come and can win here.

Quick Analysis:

Switching over to Rosehill now, where Group 1 action awaits us in the Coolmore Classic. Liked the look of Lazzura for her first-up run at the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes, but wanted to give her one run under her belt. She finished second by just 0.19L in that one. She should be fitter for that run under her belt now, and at the $4.80 mark, there’s still value with her.

Stats and Insights

  • Crossoverkid draws perfectly and should be fitter after recent runs this preparation. He looks a leading chance in Race 5 at Geelong.
  • Noble Connection is expected to improve second-up after finishing tenth at Ascot first-up. He can bounce back at double-digit odds in Race 6 at Ascot.
  • Considered is in red-hot form and comes off a strong win at Coffs Harbour on a heavy track. She looks a major player in Race 9 at Gold Coast.
