Charlina looks to be the in-form runner in this one. She broke her maiden at this track last time out (which was after a third and second placing). She gets the weight advantage over Just Awesome, who I think is her main competitor here. Draws wide, but it’s only a field of six now, so that shouldn’t be too much of a disadvantage.

Are You Kidding should be the favourite for this one, and the clear favourite at that. The gelding is carrying the top weight and holds a current career record of 3:1-1-1. He broke his maiden last time out on a Heavy8 track at Muswellbrook. Drawing barrier three also works in his favour. He might not have a lot of value to him, but he should win.

Back to Kembla Grange now, and I’ve got my eye on Hush Hush. The filly already has a win at this track in this prep. Last time out, Hush Hush finished second at Gosford over 1,600m, just 0.85L off the leader. The step down to 1,500m looks to be the right call. I’m expecting some decent odds for her, and she’s worth a shout.

  • Krackacan returns from a spell and drops back to non-metro grade, where his class stands out. He shapes as a major player in Race 4 at Rockhampton.
  • Finance Merchant was placed as a favourite last start at Ararat and will strip fitter for that run. He sets the standard in Race 5 at Horsham.
  • Ten Carat Lucy was heavily backed when resuming and has never missed a placing in her career. She looks primed to strike in Race 7 at Rockhampton.
