Trail Blazers vs Lakers Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips – NBA 7 November

My NBA tips had the Portland Trail Blazers at +1.5 when they visited the Los Angeles Lakers on 28 October, and they won 136-129. Now they’re back at Crypto.com Arena for an NBA Cup group game, tipping off at 4:00pm NZT on Saturday 7 November.

Portland lead the West at 6-1, with the 7-2 Lakers second. Yet the Lakers are 3.5-point favourites this time, two points more than in October, and I’m not sure why.

Deni Avdija has taken over as Portland’s main playmaker since Ja Morant went down, and I’m not convinced the market has caught up. He had 21 points and 12 assists in Phoenix on Thursday, while Donovan Clingan went 9-for-12 for 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Portland are 5-0 on the road, but I’m wary of the schedule. Los Angeles is the fourth stop on a trip that started in Salt Lake City, and the Spurs visit Portland the following night.

I’ll give the Lakers credit for their defence in Sacramento on Thursday. They blocked 13 shots, four of them from Walker Kessler, and turned 18 Kings turnovers into 23 points. Luka Doncic scored 40 that night, with Austin Reaves adding 21. Their only home loss came against Portland, though, who shot 18-for-36 from three that night. Kessler also finished with four turnovers and four fouls trying to deal with Portland’s bigs.

(1) Morant suffered a Grade 2 left hamstring strain in the home loss to Memphis on 30 October and was ruled out for at least four weeks.
(2) Krejci fractured his lower left leg late in the third quarter of Thursday’s win in Phoenix. Portland haven’t given a timeline for his return.
(3) Sharpe is recovering from right meniscus surgery and isn’t expected back until March.
(4) Thiero is yet to play this season because of swelling in his left knee.

Portland have won all three games since Morant got hurt, which is a big reason I’m happy to back them without him.

The Lakers have beaten Portland once in the last four meetings, 123-115 in November 2025.

• Favourite form – The Lakers are 4-1 ATS this season when favoured by 3.5 points or more.
• Scoring streak – Doncic has scored 40 or more in three straight games.
• Bench battle – Portland’s bench outscored the Lakers’ 48-33 in the first meeting.
• Totals split – Five of the Lakers’ seven games with a posted total have gone over, compared with three of Portland’s seven.

Doncic is the reason I’m not more confident in this tip. He could easily score 45 here, and even Jrue Holiday can only slow him down for so long.

I still think Portland win though. They beat the Lakers the night Doncic scored 41, and Los Angeles were out-rebounded 46-38 in Sacramento on Thursday. Recency bias is a big part of NBA betting, and I think his scoring streak has pushed this Line a couple of points too far.

I’ve got the total finishing just under 238.5, but not by enough for me to bet it.

My prediction: Trail Blazers 121-117.

Trail Blazers Moneyline – $2.30

Betista has the Trail Blazers at $2.30 to win outright, and I think that price is too big for a 6-1 side.

Portland have been Moneyline underdogs twice this season and won both times. They also beat this Lakers team on the same floor in October.

Underdog prices like this can shorten quickly on sports betting apps once team news is out, so I’d get on early.
