NRL 2026 Finals Week 2 – Betting Tips & Predictions

We’re back for Finals Week 2 action! The Dolphins and Panthers have booked their place in the Preliminary Finals, so they’ll be putting their feet up. Meanwhile, the Rabbitohs and Cowboys are no longer in finals contention. For this week, we have two games, and the winner heads to the Preliminary Finals.

We kick things off on Saturday night when the Roosters play host to the Sharks. Then, we wrap things up on Friday night when the Knights head across the ditch to face off against the Warriors. First up, we have the Roosters against the Sharks. The Roosters played a good game against the Panthers last time out, but ultimately couldn’t get across the line. Finishing in the top four means they get another bite at the cherry, but they’ll have to win against the Sharks if they want to make it into the Preliminary Finals. The Sharks always seemed in control in their 26-16 win over the Cowboys.

For the Roosters, Egan Butcher has failed his HIA and will be sitting this one. It could be a straight swap for Angus Crichton, who was a late scratching last time out. Braydon Trindall made his return last time out for the Sharks and didn’t look too crash hot at times, so watch this space. If we’re looking at overall form, both teams have been struggling as of late, with the Roosters currently on a four-game losing streak, and the Sharks winning two of their last five.

A lot is happening in Finals Week 2, but here are the key factors that will most likely impact your bets:

1. The Roosters and Sharks don’t exactly come into this one in great form. But the Roosters did give the Panthers a run for their money last time out. If that form stacks up, they should be able to take care of the Sharks.
2. In the last two times the Roosters and Sharks played each other this year, one has gone over the total points (58 points), and the other has gone unders (35 points). In a high-stakes finals match, I reckon defence will be key.
3. The Warriors look like they have a lot of personnel changes coming their way. While the Warriors are playing at home, the Knights just keep proving the doubters wrong, and I think they’ll find a way to keep this one close.

Multi of the Week

My multi of the week covers the two games in Finals Week 2:

• Leg 1 & 2 - Sydney Roosters vs Cronulla Sharks
• Leg 3 - New Zealand Warriors vs Newcastle Knights

The Warriors will be disappointed they let that game against the Dolphins slip through their fingers, and they’ll need to put that game behind them to focus on the Knights. The Knights came through the Rabbitohs last time out, winning 20-10. These two sides have played each other twice this season, with the Warriors winning on both occasions, 46-32 and 38-12. 

Leka Halasima was a very late scratching for the Warriors in their last game, and there are still a lot of question marks around him. On top of this, Jackson Ford picked up an ankle injury in his first game back since Round 16. On the flip side, things are looking more stable for the Knights. I reckon this one has all the hallmarks of a close one. The Warriors may be at home, but there looks to be plenty of changes coming their way, and the Knights would be buoyed by their win.
