NRL 2026 Round 24 – Betting Tips & Predictions

Screw saving the best for last, Round 24 is all about epic action first-up! To kick Round 24 off, we have the first-placed Panthers taking on the second-placed Roosters. Both teams are sitting on 36 Premiership points, and a win here effectively means a four-point swing in that team’s favour.

Some teams only have a slim mathematical chance of making the finals, while others are still well in the hunt. The likes of the Bulldogs and Sea Eagles are the teams currently outside the top eight that still have a realistic chance of making the finals. They still need wins, and badly, plus it wouldn’t hurt if other teams right above them lost!

A massive blockbuster clash between the top-two sides kicks things off in Round 24! The Panthers were on the receiving end of a loss, thanks to the Warriors in New Zealand last time out. Meanwhile, the winning streak continues for the Roosters, who scraped through with a 20-18 win over the Bulldogs last time out. Those results mean the two sides are now on the same number of Premiership points!

The injuries seem to be mounting up for the Panthers, but something would have to go terribly wrong for them not to lock in a top-four spot. This isn’t really the time you want injuries, and now captain Isaah Yeo is out probably until the finals. For the Roosters, we could see Lindsay Collins return to the starting 13, while an injury cloud remains over James Tedesco and his ankle.

The Sea Eagles' finals chances are hanging by a thread. It may already be too late, but all they can do is try to win and then let other results fall where they may. In the first Friday game, they face off against the Dolphins, who are currently still in the hunt for a top-four spot. After an impressive winning streak under new coach Kieran Foran, the Manly side have seemingly fallen off a cliff. They have now lost five games in a row.

They now come across a team that’s running hot at the moment, in the Dolphins. After losing 0-66 to the Sharks, the Dolphins have rattled off three wins in a row over the Cowboys, Dragons, and Broncos. In some better news for the Sea Eagles, it looks like both Tom Trbojevic and Ben Trbojevic will return for this one. Despite the return of those two key players, it’s hard to see the Sea Eagles pulling out a win here.

The final Friday night match shapes up to be another key one, with the Bulldogs sitting just outside the top-eight, in ninth spot, and the Rabbitohs sitting just inside, in seventh. The Bulldogs put up a fight against the in-form Roosters last time out, but just couldn’t get over the line, and ended up losing 18-20. That loss put an end to their three-game winning streak, with wins over the Storm, Warriors, and Tigers.

Despite a conveyor belt of injuries all season long for the Rabbitohs, they remain in the top eight. They’ve gone W-L-W-L-W in their last five, so consistency isn’t really a thing. We should see Euan Aitken back for the Bunnies, but Campbell Graham and Ashton Ward are both out. Sitili Tupouniua is out once again for the Bulldogs as well, after reinjuring his hamstring.

A lot is happening this round, but here are the key factors that will most likely impact your bets:

1. The Bulldogs are sitting just outside the top-eight, and the Rabbitohs are just inside. After their loss last time out, the Bulldogs really need to win, and with all the injuries to the Rabbitohs side, I think they’ll get it.
2. While the Sharks may be down a few players, I think they’ll be looking for a comprehensive statement win at home over the Raiders after going down to the last-placed Dragons last time out.
3. Both the Eels and Cowboys haven’t exactly been a model of consistency this season. The Cowboys are the favourites, but the home side is capable of making them work for it.

Multi of the Week

My multi of the week comes across three different games in Round 24:

• Leg 1 - Canterbury Bulldogs vs South Sydney Rabbitohs
• Leg 2 - Cronulla Sharks vs Canberra Raiders
• Leg 3 - Parramatta Eels vs North Queensland Cowboys

Kicking Saturday NRL action off are the Sharks and Raiders. The Sharks have let other teams have a sniff of a top-four finish after going down to the last-placed Dragons last time out 16-24. On the flip side, the Raiders were building nicely and could have very well finished in the top-eight, but back-to-back losses to the Panthers and Knights have really damaged their chances.

There are several injury concerns for the Sharks as well. KL Iro is in doubt for this game, Jesse Ramien is out with a pec issue, and Siosifa Talakai is also in doubt. Addin Fanua-Blake is also out, facing a one-match ban. Things are slightly more stable for the Raiders, who will miss Simi Sasagi, who is likely being rested. There’s no doubt that the Sharks will be embarrassed by their loss to the Dragons last time out, so I’m expecting them to come out looking for a statement win.

The Eels play host to the Cowboys on Saturday this round. The home side is currently playing for pride, while the Cowboys are clinging to a top-eight spot and really need a win if they want to keep the likes of the Bulldogs at bay. Last time out, the Eels lost in a close one to the Rabbitohs, 24-28, and the Cowboys got the win over the Titans 30-8. The last two games between these sides have been close, with the Eels winning both, 19-18 and 33-30.

A couple of key players should be back on the field for the Eels this time out, including both Sean Russell and Dylan Walker. However, it looks like Isaiah Iongi is out after suffering a knee injury. For the Cowboys, look for Reed Mahoney to return to the field once again. Inconsistency has plagued these two sides, and while the Cowboys are the favourites, I think the home side is good enough to keep this one close.

Wrapping up Saturday NRL action are the Broncos and Warriors at Suncorp Stadium. The Broncos did show some of their flair last time out against the Dolphins, but couldn’t keep going with them for the full 80, and ended up losing 32-40. That loss to the Dolphins makes it three in a row, and four of their last five. Interestingly enough, their only recent win comes over the Panthers. 

The Warriors are on a tear at the moment, winning four of their last five games, including last time out when they put the Panthers in their place, 28-12. These two sides played each other back in Round 11, and it was the Warriors that claimed a 42-12 win. This may be a Broncos home game, but we all know how the Warriors fans tend to fill up the Queensland stands, so it could be more like 50/50. The Warriors have bigger fish to fry; they’ll win this one.

Sunday action kicks off with the Knights welcoming the Titans to McDonald Jones Stadium. The Knights are currently sitting in sixth spot on the ladder, but I think they should be looking ahead of them, not behind. They still have a chance of making the top-four, which means home finals. After a small slide, the Knights have seemingly got back on track and have back-to-back wins over the Broncos and Raiders.

For the Titans, they were playing well without wins, then managed to bag back-to-back wins, but in their last two games, they’ve fallen away again. They suffered big defeats to both the Warriors (6-42) and the Cowboys (8-30). With the carrot of a top-four finish dangling in front of them, I think the Knights come out firing in front of their home fans. They already have a big win over the Titans this season, back in Round 11, winning 36-12.

If the Dragons want to keep their very slim chance of not ending up with the wooden spoon alive, they’ll need to win this one against the Tigers. The Dragons are riding a high after taking down a top-four team (the Sharks) last time out, 24-16. Meanwhile, the Tigers had their bye last time out, so they’ll have fresh legs, but I think they’re just waiting for the season to be over.

These two sides only played each other back in Round 18, and it was the Dragons that got the 24-10 win. The Tigers have seemingly been in freefall since that game, with enough off-field drama to rival Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The Dragons haven’t actually been playing that poorly as of late, keeping things relatively close with teams like the Warriors and Sharks. They can win this one as the slight underdogs.
