Tip #1

To kick off my same game multi, let’s start with the Warriors to win. The Knights do continue to prove the doubters wrong, and I think they’ll keep this close, but the Warriors at home just seems like a bridge too far. I think the desperation of the Warriors to not get bundled out in straight sets will be too high.

The Warriors and Knights have played each other twice this season, in Round 3 and 26, and the Warriors won on both occasions (46-32 and 38-12). The home side will have to overcome some injury challenges, so this is why I think the Knights will be good enough to keep it close, but the Warriors should be able to steer this one home.

Take the Warriors to win @ NZ$1.56.

Tip #2

Finals clashes typically don’t have high-scoring affairs. For this clash, it wouldn’t surprise me if both the Warriors and Knights took some time to feel each other out, especially in the first half. We could see defence become the biggest focus, with teams not willing to really throw the ball around until they are in the groove of the game.

When we get to the second half, things tend to change a bit, especially if we’ve been dealing with a tight and energy-sapping first half. Both the Warriors and Knights might be looking to play more expansive footy to help get their team across the line, which could result in more points.

Take the second half as the highest-scoring half @ NZ$1.95

Tip #3

The Warriors had to make a lot of changes on the fly during the game last time out, as players went down both before and during the game. While they may be down on troops, hopefully this time there will be some more stability. In the Warriors' last five games, they’ve scored the first try.

More notably, they scored the first try in the last game. While the Knights do like to get off to a fast start, I think the Warriors will be just that little bit more desperate to put the pre-game jitters to bed with a try. Obviously, scoring first doesn’t mean they’ll win, but it’s still important to get off to a good start.

Take the Warriors with a try to be the first score of the game @ NZ$1.68.
