Wests Tigers vs Dolphins
June 20th, 17:00, Campbelltown Sports Stadium
The Tigers welcome the Dolphins to Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The home team will be looking to get back-to-back wins after getting the win over the Titans, 36-28. They have now won two of their last three games, but will be without Kai Pearce-Paul.
The Dolphins seem to be one of the hottest teams in the NRL right now, and they have won their last six games in a row. A lot of those wins have come by big margins as well. This is a team that likes to score points, and the weather will only help the situation. Expect a lot of points in this one.
Take the overs on total points (52.5) @ NZ$1.90.
Canterbury Bulldogs vs Manly Sea Eagles
June 20th, 21:35, Accor Stadium
The 13th-placed Bulldogs welcome the third-placed Sea Eagles to Accor Stadium. These are two teams on seemingly different trajectories, with the Bulldogs winning just two of their last five, and the Sea Eagles winning four of their last five. We have some big news on the injury front as well.
Bulldogs’ captain, Stephen Crichton, was ruled out of Origin and might not return for this game either. On the flip side, Tom Trbojevic is getting pretty close to returning to the field. It’s easy to see why the Sea Eagles are the favourite, but I think they’ll cover the spread to boot.
Take the Sea Eagles to cover the spread (-8.5) @ NZ$2.10.
Melbourne Storm vs Canberra Raiders
June 21st, 18:05, AAMI Park
The final leg of my multi comes at AAMI Park, where the Storm play host to the Raiders. It’s surprising to see both teams in the bottom half of the ladder, but the Storm are making their comeback and have won four of their last five games. Meanwhile, the Raiders have lost four of the last five.
I don’t think the Raiders are that bad a team; they just need to string it all together. The Storm is certainly a tough opponent, especially at AAMI Park, but a team like the Raiders just can’t keep playing that poorly week after week. They should also get both Ethan Strange and Hudson Young back.
Take the Raiders to cover the spread (+8.5) @ NZ$1.86.
