St. George Illawarra Dragons vs Dolphins
July 31st, 20:00, WIN Stadium
The Dragons are back at WIN Stadium, but will be facing off against the Dolphins, who are currently sitting in fifth spot on the ladder. The Dolphins are known for their attacking flair and could very well put on a show against the side that’s leaked the second-most points so far this season.
I think the Dolphins themselves can cover the overs in total points, and the last time these two clubs played, the Dolphins piled on 56 points. The Dolphins have their confidence back after the 0-66 thumping against the Sharks two games ago, and they could be looking to make a statement.
Take the total points over 46.5 @ NZ$1.71.
Penrith Panthers vs Canberra Raiders
August 1st, 19:30, Glen Willow Oval
The top-of-the-table Panthers do come into this one as the favourite, but the Raiders are finding form at the right time. They have won their last four games in a row, and most of them have been by wide margins as well. Thanks to those four wins, the Raiders have moved up to 11th spot on the ladder.
The Panthers are obviously a different type of side, but you can’t knock the form the Raiders have been showing. The form of the Panthers hasn’t exactly been that crash-hot as of late, winning just two of their last five games. At their best, the Raiders are good enough to keep this one close.
Take the Raiders to cover the spread (+10.5) @ NZ$1.90.
Cronulla Sharks vs South Sydney Rabbitohs
August 2nd, 16:00, Ocean Protect Stadium
The Sharks are another team that has found form at the right time, and they have now moved into the all-important top-four. They have wins over the Broncos, Dolphins, Knights, and Sea Eagles. Their 66-0 win over the Dolphins was particularly impressive.
The Rabbitohs are also sitting within the top-eight, so they can’t be discounted. I just think there’s more consistency within the Sharks squad. Plus, the Rabbitohs are still missing a few key pieces. Honestly, they are probably just happy to be in the top-eight, and this looks like an easy win for the Sharks.
Take the Sharks to cover the spread (-8.5) @ NZ$1.90.
