NRL 2026 Multi Bet of the Week – Round 8

Anzac Round footy is back, and that means one thing really, the Dragons and Roosters’ rivalry will reach fever pitch! The slide continues for the Storm, who have lost five games for the first time since 2012. Plus, both the 2025 Premiers and minor Premiers are outside the top eight.

Once you’ve nailed down your NRL betting tips, it’s a good idea to check out the best betting sites as well. We have a list of all the best betting apps, new betting sites and betting bonuses available to Kiwis, so make sure you take a look at that before placing any bets.

St. George Illawarra Dragons vs Sydney Roosters

  • St. George Illawarra Dragons
  • Sydney Roosters NRL

April 25th, 18:00, Allianz Stadium

The classic Anzac Day clash between the Dragons and Roosters probably won’t have as much sting to it compared to previous years. The Dragons' coach has just been shown the door after a horror start to the season, which has seen the team remain winless.

The Roosters, however, boast three wins in a row over the likes of the Sea Eagles, Sharks and Knights. There’s no value in picking the Roosters as they are the heavy favourites, but the Dragons have been leaking points, and with the attack of the Roosters, they can definitely take advantage.

Take over 50.5 for total points @ NZ$1.71.

Melbourne Storm vs South Sydney Rabbitohs

  • Melbourne Storm NRL
  • South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL

April 25th, 22:10, AAMI Park

Despite the Storm’s current losing streak of five (something we haven’t seen since 2012), they still come into this one as the favourites. Saying the Rabbitohs have a poor record here at AAMI Park would be an understatement, though. The Rabbitohs are 0-20 against the Storm at AAMI Park!

The Storm seem to be the Rabbitohs' bogey team as well, as the Storm hold a 36-7 record in the 43 games between these two teams. You can’t knock the winning form from the Rabbitohs coming into this clash, and they have won three of their last four. The only loss was by just two points to the Raiders.

Take the Rabbitohs handicap +6.5 @ NZ$1.60.

Newcastle Knights vs Penrith Panthers

  • Newcastle Knights NRL
  • Penrith Panthers NRL

April 26th, 16:00, McDonald Jones Stadium

The Panthers come into this one as the heavy favourites, and with their recent form, it’s easy to see why. Although the Panthers have been slightly shaky over the last two rounds, losing to the Bulldogs and then needing to go to Golden Point to get the job done last time out over the Dolphins.

I’m getting a little concerned about the Knights' forward line-up, which is getting a bit thin. Also, the Knights have conceded a lot of points so far this season. The Panthers will be licking their lips to take advantage of a leaky defence, so the total points looks like an easy bet.

Take over 48.5 for total points @ NZ$1.75.
