Roland Garros Expert Tips and Best Bets | May 31
Just 16 men and 16 women remain in the hunt to win the 2026 French Open, with the fourth round of the year’s second Grand Slam kicking off on Sunday. Our best bets focus on a couple of top ten players in the women’s draw and what should be a thrilling matchup on the men’s side; take a look at them below.
Women’s French Open – Iga Swiatek vs Marta Kostyuk: Swiatek to win in straight sets | $1.85 with Zoccer
Iga Swiatek has been dominant so far this tournament, cruising through her first three matches in straight sets, her compatriot Magda Linette being her most difficult match – she won that one 6-4 6-4. Kostyuk has been solid too, but this is just the second time in seven attempts that she’s made it past the second round at Roland Garros. Swiatek, in contrast, has won four of the last six editions of the event, and never lost earlier than the fourth round. There is a big class differential here, and nearly even money with betting sites for one of the best to ever do it on clay to win in straight sets here looks like great value.
Women’s French Open – Elena Svitolina vs Belinda Bencic: Svitolina to win | $1.58 with Betista
Elena Svitolina has forged an excellent career out of her consistency, and while she’s regularly been unable to beat the best of the best, she is very good at winning matches she’s expected to win. This is exactly that. Svitolina was pushed a little harder than she might have liked in Round 1 of this event, but she’s been really solid since then. Bencic has been impressive too, and as the 11th seed is not exactly an easybeat. But while Svitolina has been a regular in the latter stages of this tournament, this is the first time in eight attempts that Bencic has made it past the third round. Particularly at a tournament at which she’s generally been pretty comfortable, Svitolina should have the edge here.
Men’s French Open – Casper Ruud vs Joao Fonseca: Fonseca to win | $2.30 with BetandPlay
What a game this shapes up as, and I’m tipping an upset at well over $2 with most betting apps. Though he’s never been able to go all the way, the French Open is Ruud’s best tournament, but he’s been made to work so far this tournament and just barely scraped through to the fourth round by edging out Tommy Paul in five gruelling sets. Fonseca has also had a couple of five setters, but the latest one could hardly have been more impressive. The young Brazilian fought back from two sets down to beat none other than Novak Djokovic, and that win could prove to be career-defining for the 19-year-old. This should be a fantastic match, but at pretty juicy odds Fonseca is the value bet to make his way through to the quarter finals.
