This looms as an exhilarating clash between the number four and number five seeds, and one which could very easily go either way. Coco Gauff has been fantastic so far throughout the tournament, winning every match in straight sets as she hunts out a second major title in front of her home crowd and a third overall. Andreeva, however, has been pretty handy herself – she needed three sets in her latest outing to beat Potapova but prior to that hadn’t dropped a set. At the age of just 19, the Russian has established herself as one of the best in the world already following on from her inaugural Grand Slam win at the French Open earlier in the year, and having already made it to the semis of another major and two more quarterfinals in her short career, her experience belies her age. As good as Gauff is looking, the odds set by betting sites for the impressive Andreeva are simply too good to ignore.

Elena Rybakina vs Qinwen Zheng: Rybakina to win in straight sets | $1.86 with BetandPlay

Maybe this is underestimating Qinwen Zheng, but rather than a slight on her this bet is far more based on confidence in Rybakina. The Kasakhstani 27-year-old has enjoyed a strong season following on from her Australian Open victory in January, and has made it through to the quarterfinals at Flushing Meadows for the first time in her career on the back of four consecutive straight set wins, the latest of which was a hugely impressive 6-4 6-1 defeat of Naomi Osaka. Zheng, meanwhile, has been made to work a lot harder. The unseeded Chinese player grinded her way first through the qualifiers and then through the first three rounds, all of which required three sets, before she put in an incredibly impressive performance against Iga Swiatek in the Round of 16, winning that one 7-5 6-3. She is one of the stories of the US Open at this point and Rybakina will certainly not be entering this match expecting an easy victory. But there is a big differential in both talent and experience deep in Grand Slam tournaments in this match, and at close to even money on the betting apps to continue her run of straight set wins, Rybakina looks like good value.

Alexander Blockx vs Karen Khachanov: Blockx to win | $2.35 with Zoccer

Not many people would have had Blockx vs Khachanov meeting in the quarterfinals on their bingo cards, but here we are. The 28th seeded Blockx up against thet unseeded Khachanov, with the victor earning a spot in the final four of the US Open. Both have well and truly earned their spot in the quarters, Blockx knocking off number 5 seed Flavio Cobolli and number 24 seed Francisco Cerundolo in his last two matches, and Khachanov’s path including wins over number 3 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second round, and number 14 seed Learner Tien in five sets last round. The latter of those was a gruelliing matchup for the Russian, though at 30 years old he is showing no signs of slowing down and is in fact winding back the clock as a former top 10 player. The fresh legs of Blockx, however, just 21 and coming into this match off the back of a couple of shorter games, looks way overs at around $2.35. The Belgian has come out of nowhere to be here – he’d never made the main draw of a Grand Slam prior to this year and never made it past the second round of one before this tournament, but having claimed a number of big scalps his year, it’s clear he has a big future ahead of him. He looks like great value to notch up another win here.
