It would be no surprise to see Rybakina snatch a set off her here; she did just knock off world number four and hometown favourite Coco Gauff after all, but Sabalenka’s power and confidence, particularly on this court, makes it extremely hard to go past her.

Now we get a little bit more specific, adding some more value to our card by looking at the correct set score. As mentioned above, it’s extremely hard to go past Sabalenka to win, but Rybakina is a fantastic player and one who does not appear to be overawed by major occasions; you only need to look at her demeanour in the Australian Open final earlier this year, in which she looked about as calm as if she was having a friendly hit with somebody down at her local courts. She’s going to make things tough for Sabalenka, and her length and athleticism means the power with which Sabalenka is so often able to overwhelm her opposition will be nullified to some extent. I still fully expect Sabalenka to get the chocolates in this one, but Rybakina will be pushing her to the limits in every set and it would be no surprise to see this match go the distance.
