Premier League: Chelsea vs Manchester United - Betting Tips, Odds & Prediction

Two underperforming giants, Chelsea and Manchester United, face off in a Premier League showdown on Saturday morning with very different implications for each club.

Odds on NZ betting sites are remarkably long for a United win in this match. The Red Devils are languishing in 16th and staring down the barrel of a historically poor league finish. Chelsea, on the other hand, are fifth, but Champions League football is still far from guaranteed next season.

Chelsea 

The Blues looked excellent heading into their away trip to St. James Park to take on fellow top-five chasers Newcastle United. Chelsea were on a three-match winning run, and Cole Palmer also showed signs of resurgence in a convincing win against champions elect Liverpool. 

However, they were outclassed by the Toon Army as they cruised to a 2-0 victory and moved to third position on the table. 

Enzo Maresca has found a new role for Chelsea’s player of the season Moises Caicedo at right-back. The Ecuadorian struggled against Newcastle but will be looking to bounce back against a faltering Manchester United.

Team News: Nicolas Jackson won’t be available for the match after getting marching orders against Newcastle. Maresca could deploy Noni Madueke as a striker and bring in Jadon Sancho at left-wing.

Manchester United 

Football betting sites don’t have high hopes for Manchester United as they prepare to visit the English capital. 

Even a West Ham side that could not win a Premier League match in their previous eight attempts proved too strong for United at Old Trafford. 

At this point, Manchester United’s focus has shifted to the Europa League final at San Mames later this month, but United boss Ruben Amorim was visibly frustrated to see another lacklustre Premier League performance from his team.

Team News: After sitting out the West Ham match for a rest, Andre Onana may return to the starting XI.
