Man United vs Bournemouth Prediction

Man United and Bournemouth meet in the Premier League at Old Trafford at 3am on Monday NZT, with one point and two places between them in the bottom half.

United are seven games without a win in all competitions, and their captain has gone public with complaints about the tactics. Bournemouth arrive off their first league win of the season.

I’ve steered this Man United vs Bournemouth preview away from the obvious home-win angle. My bet is on a result that has come in a lot lately, and it pays close to $4.

It’s my pick for anyone looking to bet on football at a decent price this weekend.

Man United vs Bournemouth Analysis

Man United

Bruno Fernandes criticising his manager in public is the last thing United needed before this game.

After the 4-1 loss at Como on 21 October, he said the decision not to press man-to-man was one for the staff. Michael Carrick responded by questioning his players’ intensity, and he’s set to be in the dugout for this one.

Fernandes was used as a false nine in Italy and came off after 67 minutes. He’s had one goal involvement in his last nine United games, and I’d expect him back at No 10 here with Joshua Zirkzee up front after his late goal against Como.

I’m not sure that fixes much. Bryan Mbeumo gave United a 35th-minute lead at Leeds on 18 October, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised from a corner six minutes after the break.

I’d have more faith in a home win if United had kept a clean sheet in any of their seven league games, but they haven’t managed one yet.

Team News: Sesko, Mainoo, Shaw, Dorgu and Ugarte are out. Martinez and Rashford are doubts, and Heaven should be back after illness.

Predicted Lineup: Lammens; Dalot, Yoro, Maguire, Mazraoui; Baleba, Tielemans; Mbeumo, Fernandes, Amad; Zirkzee.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth hosted Milan in the Europa League on 22 October, a day after United’s game in Como.

Marco Rose picked a strong side, which led 2-0 at half-time against 10 men after penalties from Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier. I’d expect some tired legs at Old Trafford, and I’ll be watching the live betting sites in the last half-hour in case Bournemouth fade.

Their league form only picked up last weekend. Tavernier headed in Evanilson’s cross after six minutes against Sunderland on 18 October, and Evanilson scored the second just after half-time.

I wouldn’t sweat this too much though. Sunderland had Kevin Danso sent off after 17 minutes, and Bournemouth had lost 5-1 at Chelsea in their previous league game.

Team News: Scott and Araujo are out. Kroupi is back in training after foot surgery and could return.

Predicted Lineup: Petrovic; Smith, Hill, Silva, Truffert; Adams, Cook; Rayan, Christie, Tavernier; Evanilson.

Man United vs Bournemouth Stats and Trends

  • United haven’t beaten Bournemouth in the league since May 2023.
  • Bournemouth have scored 10 goals in their last three league visits to Old Trafford.
  • Bournemouth have conceded nine goals in three league away games this season.
  • United have won one of their three home league games this season.
  • Tavernier has four Premier League goals this season.

Man United vs Bournemouth Prediction

There isn’t a clear cut pick here.

United are at home against a side who were in the relegation places a week ago, so on paper they should win. But I can’t trust a team whose captain and manager are disagreeing in public, and they haven’t won a league game since 30 August.

Bournemouth will have tired legs. I’m just not sure United have the cutting edge to punish that with Sesko out.

I’ve got it 1-1. Mbeumo is the likeliest United scorer for me, and Tavernier has been Bournemouth’s most dangerous player this season.

If I’m wrong, I think a Bournemouth win is more likely than a comfortable United one. News on Carrick’s future before kickoff could change that, so I’d hold off until the teams are out.

I don’t fancy the over at $1.65 either. Both teams to score at $1.62 is the goals bet I’d go with, because it fits the scoreline I’m expecting.

Man United vs Bournemouth - The Ultimate Bet

Draw @ $3.90

I’d want close to $4 for a draw in a game like this, and that’s about where it is on Zotabet.

United have finished 1-1 in each of their last three league games. Their last three league meetings with Bournemouth all ended level too, including a 4-4 at Old Trafford in December 2025.

Bournemouth have drawn three of their own seven league games, and I can see both sides settling for a point if it’s level going into the last 15 minutes.

Anything from $3.80 up is fine by me, so I’d check a few of the other new betting sites too for the best of it.
