UEFA Women’s Euro 2025: Sweden vs England- Betting Tips, Odds & Prediction

More than a year after securing their place at Euro 2025 with a goalless draw against Sweden, England are now set to face the Blue and Yellows in the quarter-finals at Stadion Letzigrund.

The Lionesses made their intent clear with commanding wins over Wales and Netherlands in the group stages. But a loss to France has denied them the top spot in Group D. Now, they must get past a tricky Sweden unit to keep their title defence alive. 

The Swedes have not tasted defeat since losing to Spain in December, 2023. Betting sites in NZ are offering strong odds for a Sweden win, but England are still the favourites. Where does the value lie though? Read on for our football betting tips.

Sweden

Sweden took maximum points from all three of their group matches and finished their group stage mission with a 4-1 demolition of Germany. The Germans drew first blood, but goals from Stina Blackstenius, Smilla Holmberg, Fridolina Rolfo, and Lina Hurtig steered them to a big win in Zurich. 

Football sports betting platforms have taken note of Sweden’s remarkable recent form and labeled them as one of the contenders in Switzerland. Peter Gerhardsson will hand over the reins to Tony Gustavsson after the Euros, so he will be keen on signing off with a statement title charge.

Sarina Wiegman must have spent extra time on the drawing board to make sure the ghosts of the France match don’t haunt them against Sweden. They have a 10-1 aggregate score in their last two games, but Sweden should be a sterner test.

Team News: Wiegman is expected to make minimal changes to the starting XI since there are no injury or suspension issues.

Sweden have been one of the best teams in the tournament so far. So, they have no reason to feel intimidated before taking on the current champions in the quarter-finals. They fell to a 4-0 thrashing to England in the 2022 Euros semi-finals. Redemption, therefore, is likely to give the 1984 champions an added sense of motivation.

Sweden are highly effective on the break, so if England push forward too aggressively, they can fall victim to lethal counter-attacks. A tweaked back four in the last two games have added more stability in the English backline, but containing an attack that fired eight goals over their last three games will be a big challenge. 

We expect goals on both ends, with England nicking a win in a high-scoring thriller.
