Football Multi Bet

The 2026 World Cup kicks off on Friday morning NZT, and I’ve put together a football multi bet from both Group A openers. My football betting tips are focused on Mexico’s home opener and a South Korea vs Czechia clash that screams goals. Combined odds come in just above $9.00 if we hit.

Multi Bet Tip

LegsOdds
Mexico to beat South Africa$1.50
South Korea to beat Czechia$2.65
Over 2.5 goals in South Korea vs Czechia$2.30

Mexico vs South Africa

Friday June 12, 7:00am NZT, Estadio Azteca, Mexico City

Mexico open the World Cup at home, in front of 87,000, and should delight their home fans. They haven’t lost in 2026 - eight matches, including draws against Portugal and Belgium and a 5-1 win over Serbia in their final warm-up.

South Africa haven’t been at a World Cup since hosting in 2010, and Mexico City is 2,240 metres above sea level - brutal for any visiting side. At $1.50 on football betting sites, I’d be stunned if Mexico didn’t collect three points.

South Korea vs Czechia

Friday June 12, 2:00pm NZT, Estadio Akron, Guadalajara

I’m backing South Korea here. Son Heung-min is playing his fourth World Cup and he’s looked sharp at LAFC this year. Lee Kang-in at PSG and Kim Min-jae at Bayern Munich give them a level of club pedigree that Czechia just can’t match.

South Korea went unbeaten through qualifying, scoring 40 goals and conceding just eight. Czechia are back at a World Cup for the first time since 2006 and needed two penalty shootouts in the playoffs to get here. I respect what Patrik Schick and Tomas Soucek bring, but at $2.65, the Koreans have the edge on experience.

Over 2.5 Goals: South Korea vs Czechia

Friday June 12, 2:00pm NZT, Estadio Akron, Guadalajara

I’m going back to this match for the third leg. A loss here probably ends either side’s tournament before the group stage is a week old. Neither team can afford to play for a draw.

South Korea scored 40 goals in qualifying. Czechia’s last five matches have all finished with three or more goals, and they play a 3-4-2-1 that can be stretched on the break. At $2.30 on legal betting sites, this is where the risk is - I won’t pretend I’m fully confident - but recent form from both sides suggests this won’t be a 0-0.
