Roland Garros Expert Tips and Best Bets | May 26

The French Open continues on Tuesday with the final day of Round One matches, with the world number ones on both sides of the draw in Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner taking to Court Phillipe-Chartier. But with easy wins expected for both of them, we’ll be focusing our attention elsewhere as we look to seek out the best bets for the day’s action.

Men’s French Open – Facundo Diaz Acosta vs Zhizhen Zhang: Diaz Acosta to win | $1.45 with BetandPlay

Not the longest odds to start off with at just under $1.50 with most betting sites, but one that should get us a comfortable win. Diaz Acosta was forced to grind his way into the main draw with three three-setters in the qualifying, but he was beating players of a similar quality if not better than Zhizhen Zhang and has some great clay court form behind him. The Argentinian has won two tournaments on clay in the past couple of months, a far cry from what his Chinese opponent in this match has managed; Zhizhen has been knocked out in the first round in four of his last five. Diaz Acosta should be crusing through to Round Two here.

Women’s French Open – Naomi Osaka vs Laura Siegemund: Osaka to win in straight sets | $1.75 with Betista

This one is a bit of a first round mismatch between the former world number one Osaka and the 38-year-old doubles specialist Siegemund. Osaka’s struggles at Roland Garros have been well-documented, but she’s had a solid run into this tournament on clay, winning four of six matches in the two lead-up tournaments and with both those losses coming to top four players in the world – one of them in three tight sets. Siegemund has enjoyed a couple of solid wins of her own, but they have generally been against much lower ranked players than Osaka, and she has struggled against those at the level of Osaka. It’s hard to see the German winning a set in this one.

Women’s French Open – Linda Noskova vs Maria Sakkari: Noskova to win in straight sets | $2.00 with Zoccer

Maria Sakkari has been ranked as high as 3 in the world, but she is not the player she once was and her form heading into this event has been decidedly average. The 30-year-old has won just one match at four tournaments on clay so far this season, and with all four of those losses coming in straight sets the even money on offer with the betting apps here looks like great value, particularly against the ever-improving Linda Noskova. At just 21 years of age, Noskova is ranked 12 in the world and has had a strong clay season to date, winning seven times and losing just three. She’s been knocking off similarly or even higher ranked players than Sakkari with relative ease, and can do so again on Tuesday.
