In the opener Yaldi will be a popular selection. A winner last time out at Ellerslie he flashed home late and won that race in cozy fashion. Conditions should be perfect once again and look for him to make his trademark late surge once again.

THE DANGER – Mr Mojo Risin

The danger could lie with Mr Mojo Risin. A winner of two of his last three, he will be hoping to land a first victory here. A winner seven days ago, there are concerns about the short turnaround, but he is fit and raring to go.

VALUE BET – Uderzo

The value could lie with Uderzo, who was another last time out winner with that win coming at the track. Another one who will hope to be pulled along by the field, he will be hoping for a pace collapse where he can pick up the pieces. He looks a player at a decent price.

BEST BET – Inside Out

Although Inside Out won’t be the favourite, connections will be eyeing this up as a major opportunity. He routed the field last time out at the track, and that form stacks up well. This won’t be as easy but his last run was too good to be ignored.

THE DANGER – Andiamo

It is Andiamo who will likely head the market, and she will rate as the main danger. Unexposed compared to most, she has two wins from five starts with one of those wins coming here. It is likely that there is still improvement to come and she has to be respected.

VALUE BET – I Park

At a price it could be worth paying attention to I Park. Although not a prolific winner by any means, he ran well last time out to land a second career victory at the track. Confidence will be high and big run can be expected.

Hezashocker – 16.00

BEST BET – Pacifico

When it comes to ratings, nobody in this field really comes close to Pacifico. A winner of three of his last five, he has three wins and a place from six starts at this distance. He disappointed last time out but there will be a hope that was just a blip and a bounce back is more than possible.

THE DANGER – Fly My Way

There are countless dangers in the field, but one horse who is standing out is Fly My Way. One of the most experienced in this field, it is surprising that he has only raced here three times. His last visit was a good one as he surged to the front late to notch a sixth victory. He could build on that here.

VALUE BET – Hezashocker

Our long shot of the day comes from Hezashocker. Having racked up well over a million in prize money, this race won’t hold any concerns for connections. Having competed in numerous Group 1 and Group 2 races, he is a classy horse on his day, whether it is a going day remains to be seen.
